I sat in the kitchen but I was in no mood to eat. I felt humiliated. Penny must still be mad at me for embarrassing her at school. And ruining one of her shirts.

I went to the fridge and got myself a big glass of orange juice. It would have to do. I don't think i could stomach anything else.

"Are you nearly ready?" Mom announced from the hall.

"Yes Mom. Coming."

"Oh, please call me Mommy."

OK... ? "Yes, Mommy."

I put on my trainers and approached the door.

"We will have to get you new shoes too. I can make a stop on route. We will just miss the adverts really. Let's go."

We pulled in to a shoes store. My mother strolled straight over to the counter and asked for help.

"We are in a bit of a rush. Late for the cinema. Have you any girls black shoes? Suitable for school too? Go with this woman Kelly dear. She will measure your feet and get you a pair of shoes to try on."

The lady sat me down on a stool.

"Right it's not really the time of year for school shoes but I'll find something. Can you just take off your shoes and socks and I will measure your foot?"

I did as instructed and then the lady went off to get some shoes. God this is taking forever. We will miss the start of the movie!

Eventually she came back with a shiny pair of black heels. "Right pop them on for me and stand up."

"You can't get those Kelly," Mom piped in

"You can't get those Kelly," Mom piped in. "They do not allow heels in school."

"I am sorry but we are just a little low stocked at the moment on school shoes but I am sure I can find a more suitable pair." She was about to go off searching the store room. We are going to miss the film!

"We don't have time Mommy! These will do. I can get school shoes later, besides I will need more than one pair of shoes!"

"Oh all right then. I guess I will have to write you a note on Monday about your uniform anyway."

"Lets go pay, but put your socks back on."

"Yes Mommy," I answered gleefully. We are going to make the movie. I am going to see Black Panther at last.

We arrived in the cinema car park and I hopped out of the car straight away. Eager to get inside.

I froze. Just ahead was James walking in to the cinema. Of course. He wanted to see it too. We were meant to go together. I had such a weird week I forgot. What am I going to do if he sees me? A shirt is bad enough but a pink dress!

I completely forgot about the movie. I grabbed the side of my dress and pulled it down as much as possible.
