"Chris?" Seungmin called as he slipped out of bed. Walking out of the room and down the hall he entered the kitchen.

A small sticky note was left on the table along with a covered plate of some waffled Chan had made.

I had an emergency surgery, I should be home in a few hours. I made breakfast, there's some stuff to make lunch in the fridge, I left a recipe on the cupboard if you want to make something.

Love Chan hyung :)

Seungmin sighed walking over to the cabinet. Opening it he pulled out the bottle of pills, undoing the cap he took two out popping them in his mouth before drinking some water.

Looking over at the plate of breakfast he smiled softly. He was really grateful for Chan.

After warming up the food and eating it, he made sure to wash the dishes in the sink before going to do the laundry. It was his daily routine doing chores while Chan wasn't home. As he walked into the room the sound of rain caught his ears making him look over at window.

Sighing Seungmin turned to put the clothes in the washer.

The loud clap of thunder startled him, the clothes he was holding falling to the floor. With a panicked look Seungmin rushed into the living room trying to find his phone. Another boom of thunder startled him, tears filled his eyes as he yelped hands going to cover his ears.

Chan Hyung please come home.

"That's my last surgery." Chan said as he rubbed the back of his neck before popping it. "Wow, you must be busy these days." Nurse Jang said as she looked at the doctor who sighed with a nod.

"Have you already finished your appointments?" She asked earning a nod from the other who took a sip of coffee. "Yes I have."

The sound of thunder sounded a sigh coming from nurse Jang. "Must be storming hard out there." She said earning a hum from Chan who looked down at the clipboard.

"Hopefully it's not to bad cause Seungm–"

A gasp left Chan his eyed widening as he dropped his clipboard. "I need to go." He said rushing down the hall. Fishing his phone out of his pocket he quickly called Seungmin's number putting the phone up to his ear. It rang for a few seconds before someone picked it up a relieved sigh leaving Chan. "Seungmin, puppy." He said softly earning a small whimper from the younger. "Hey it's okay, I'm on my way home baby." Chan assured as he rushed out to his car taking out his keys and unlocking the vehicle.

He could hear the sound of thunder rumbling on the other line along with Seungmins small sob.

"Hey hey, it's okay I'm here Minnie." Chan said as he turned on the car. "I need you to go into the room and look in the drawer puppy." Chan instructed as he pulled out of the parking space and sped out of the parking garage. "There's gonna be a pair of head phones, love I need you to put those on until I get home okay?" Chan said earning a small okay from Seungmin.

After hanging up the phone he sighed and pulled onto the highway, impatient as thunder rumbled and rain fell.

Luckily he wasn't to far from the house so it only took a few minutes before he arrived. Parking the car Chan rushed out, and to the door. Opening it he quickly set down his stuff before running to the bedroom where Seungmin was curled up on the bed tears in his eyes. His ears were flat, tail curled between his legs in fear.

"Hey Seungminnie I'm here now." Chan said as he gently cupped the boys face brushing away his tears.

The small dog hybrid clung to him, body shaking as the thunder continued. "Shh, it's alright pup." Chan soothed as he rubbed the others back. Slipping the headphones off he smiled at Seungmin who sniffled tears falling down his cheeks.

"It can't hurt you baby, Hyung's here now pup." Chan said as he hugged the younger who openly cried fear filling him even more as the booms got louder.

"No." Seungmin screamed shoving at Chan the hybrid scrambling off the bed and to the corner of the room. "Hey Minnie." The elder said softly as he slipped off the bed walking over to the other who screamed at him. "Don't Touch Me." He yelled reaching out to hit Chan who moved back just in time. "Stop It No!" Seungmin screamed as Chan gently grabbed his wrist not wanting the other to hurt himself.

"I'm Not A Bad Dog!"

"I know Minnie, your my good puppy." Chan spoke, his voice gentle and calming. Sniffling Seungmin looked at the elder who gently reached up to scratch behind his ears. "Your safe now Seungmin-ah." He said with a smile.

"Hyung." He whimpered out reaching for Chan with shaky hands. "I know pup, I know." Chan said softly as he pulled the other into a hug.

"Their gonna take me away again." He said panicked as he held onto Chan tighter breathing picking back up again. "No one's gonna take you from me puppy. I won't let them." He assured rubbing the boys back. Seungmin whimpered hiding in the crook of Chan's neck as he sobbed.

Lifting the younger boy up, Chan sighed as he carried him into the living room sitting down on the couch with Seungmin in his lap so the other wouldn't freak out again. "Puppy, are you thirsty or hungry?" Chan asked trying to district the other. Shaking his head Seungmin whined as he reached for the blanket near them. "Here, I got it puppy." Chan said as he grabbed the fluffy blanket pulling his over Seungmin who sighed relaxing against him.

The thunder calmed down, no longer as loud as before. The rain was slowing as well, which Chan was thankful for.

The sound of the AC and oil diffuser filled the room as the two remained silent. Seungmin was already falling asleep, small hums of content leaving him as Chan gently scratched his ears and stroked his hair.

"Thank you." He mumbled sleepily earning a small smile from Chan.

"I'll always be here for you Seungminnie."
