Ghosts

Chapter 2

The next morning Naomi woke up and realised she wasn't in her home. She was in a fancy looking room and she looked around to find a guitar at the corner of the room and posters. She lifted the blankets and saw that she was only in a black eye peas T-shirt. She muttered under her breathe as she remembered last night going on an adventure around the City with AJ.

'AJ!'

She looked around the room and saw on sign of him. He wasn't in the room but she knew he'd slept in here she could smell his cologne faintly. She got of bed and wobbled slightly. She felt pain all over her body from yesterday's activities because she'd never done it before with anyone.  She walked into the kitchen and found  AJ there.

"Good morning," she smiled.

"Oh you're  awake good your clothes are in the plastic  and there's money in there too for a taxi so it was fun," he gestured to the table in the living room.

"Pardon?" she asked.

"Oh come on sweetheart it was fun and all but you wanted to forget your ex I wanted a good smash we had fun but that's it. I Don't Date," he shrugged.

"Oh wow I'm such an idiot good bye AJ," she glared picking up the plastic bag with her clothes and left. 

Naomi wore her jeans and shoes behind a bush. She got a taxi and was driven home.  She the realised when she entered the house that she was still wearing AJ's shirt. It smelt like him. She took a shower and changed into a T-shirt and jeans along with  sneakers. She was going to pick her mother up from the hospital.  She packed her mother a change of clothes and took the train station to the hospital. She walked in and walked to her mother's room while greeting the nurses and doctors. She was always coming that it felt like they were family. She entered the room and her mother was seated on her bed.

"Ma you ready to go?" she asked.

"Yes I am pumpkin," her mother smiled. 

Her mother changed into the clothes she'd brought. They got a taxi home and Naomi helped her mother into bed and went downstairs to make lunch. There was a knock at the door and she went to open it. When she opened the door there was a man standing in front of her whom she didn't know.

"Are you Naomi Harper?" he asked.

Depends who's asking?" she raised an eye brow at the man.

"My name is Riley Harper we shared the same father," he said not beating around the bush.

"Look I don't care about my father he left now if you could leave I need to take care of my mother,"  Naomi glared at the man standing in front of her.

"I get but if ever need me here's my number call me okay," he said giving her a card.

She took it and Riley walked away to his car. Naomi walked back into the house after closing the door and  went back into the kitchen to continue cooking lunch. She kept thinking about Riley wondering if what he was saying was true. She sighed shaking her head  to focus on her mother.

Riley walked into AJ's club building. He walked to the elevator which took him to the business floor. He walked into his best friend office and sat down down on the couch releasing a defeated sigh.

"I'm guess it didn't go so well," AJ asked looking up at his friend.

"She basically told me to f*ck off," he sighed pouring himself a drink.

"Maybe she needs time to adjust give her time I'm sure she'll come around," The play boy offered.

"How was your conquest last night?" the sniper smirked.

"She was a virgin it was fun, though I'm pretty sure she hates me now,"  he shrugged.

"What'd you  do?" Riley sighed.

"I told her that it was fun but that's all it was I don't date," he explained sighing.

"I'm at a loss of words with you man one day you're going to have to settle,"  the older male said.

"Ha look who's talking. Riley I don't think you've noticed but we're both players you're just nicer to the girls you ...... sleep with," AJ shrugged glaring at his friend/brother.

"Johnny's already settling with Mary don't you want something like that?" Riley sighed ignoring  AJ's insult.

"Something like that can't be found for us Riley Marian knows everything and doesn't judge because she's  always been there. She was with him through everything. You can't expect us to find something like that when we're so f*cked up!"  AJ shrugged downing his drink.

"I don't believe that," Riley shook his head.

Before AJ could reply Riley's phone rang. The two looked at each other. Riley saw it was an unknown number so he answered with hostility.

"Who the f*ck is this?" he asked.

"I'm s-sorry," the female voice choked.

"Naomi?" Riley asked.

"Yeah um something happened and I d-didn't know who e-else to call," she stuttered crying.

"Hey hey calm down tell me what happened?" he cooed.

"So my boyfriend well ex-boyfriend I broke with him yesterday because he tried something anyway he's the one who gets my mother's medication since he knows  a guy. He's threatening to stop and without it she'll  die I don't know what to do because he'll kill me if he finds out," she cried openly.

"Naomi finds out what?" Riley demanded.

"I'm not a virgin anymore. I met this really sweet guy last night. He was kind and warm and well I felt a connection so we had sex I thought I wouldn't get back together with Ray so I never thought about it," she explained still in tears.

"Naomi calm down I'll be over soon then you and your mum can come live with me I'll find a way to get you those drugs," Riley reassured the young girl.

"Thank you so much Riley and I'm sorry about the way I acted I was having a bad morning," she apologised.

Riley hung up and he explained to AJ so they got into AJ's Audi and drove to Naomi's family home. AJ parked in front of the house and they walked to the door. Riley knocked on the door and Naomi opened the door and smiled at Riley. She moved to look over at AJ who was frozen looking at the girl in front of him who he thought he'd never see again. Naomi also froze staring at the boy who'd been her first who she thought actually cared but turned out to be like all the rest

"A-AJ?" Naomi stuttered her eyes red and puffy from crying earlier
