Ghosts

Chapter 4

Naomi walked out of the bathroom and walked back up the stairs.

"I need to get home I'm moving into my school apartment during the weekend so need to pack up somethings," she smiled.

"I'll drive you," Riley offered standing up.

"Oh no I'll take the bus," she smiled shaking her head politely.

"I'll take her I was planning on going home anyway, " AJ stood up from his seat next to a blonde.

"I don't have a say in this do I?" Naomi asked whilst sighing.

"Sadly no you don't it's what it means to be part of this family, " Edgar shook his head with a smirk.

"Fine let's go," she sighed and noticed that the girl AJ was seated next to was also standing up, "Wait a minute is she tagging along?"

"Yeah she's coming home with me," AJ shrugged.

For some Naomi felt a pang in her chest. She hid her pain and walked down the stairs. They entered the garage and got into the car. Naomi was seated at the back while AJ's new conquest sat in the passenger's seat. The two were flirting shamelessly and sometimes they were touching each other inappropriately which made Naomi really uncomfortable because those same hands had touched her only they'd been respectful and she knew she should be grateful but she felt sort of jealous of the blonde supermodel looking girl.

"I should have taken the bus," she mumbled to herself.

"What was that Princess?" AJ asked with a smirk on his face.

"Just hurry up and take me home," she rolled her eyes .

AJ pulled up in front of Riley's apartment and Naomi got out. She mumbled a thank you and walked to the door. She turned around when she heard the car driving away. She sighed as she walked into the building. She took the elevator to Riley's floor and got in. She went to her room took a shower the changed info her PJs. She went to her mother's room and saw her mother awake.

"Hey mum how you feeling?" she asked sitting on the bed.

"I've been better. Where are we dear?" her mother, Elena asked looking around at the elegant looking room.

"I met my half brother Riley Harper and he offered to help us since Ray decided to pull your medication," she rambled.

"Oh sweetie," her mother hugged her and she hugged her tighter causing her mum to pull away, " but why do I feel like that's not the problem here?"

"So I met this guy when I went out with the girls he was super kind and caring and funny so we had sex then the next morning he kicked me out only to find he's Riley's best friend," she rambled again tears shining in her eyes.

"Oh dear that is a problem," her mother muttered.

"I know," she sighed.

Naomi curled up by her mother's side a decided that it was best to sleep. She would pack the next day.

AJ parked his car in his garage. As they were walking to the door they found themselves making out. He unlocked the door and they stumbled in clothes flying everywhere. He led her to his room and pushed her onto the bed. They had really hard-core sex but AJ found himself thinking about a brown doe eyed girl who he'd couldn't have because she was his best friend's little half sister who Riley seemed to already care about deeply. AJ sighed getting of the bed and walking to the balcony were he looked over all of New York City. His phone buzzed and he pulled it out answering it without checking the caller ID.

"What?" he demanded.

"Well hello boy is that a way to speak to your father?" he asked.

"What. Do .You. Want?" he asked through clenched teeth.

"I need you to meet me at the underground fighting match I have a few matches lined up. The old man also wants you to be Capo," his father said.

"Last I checked I didn't qualify because I was the bastard son given away to an orphanage at the age of ten," he shrugged.

"The old man said his oldest grandson and when I asked if he meant Tony he said that Tony wasn't born first so that's you,"  his father sighed.

"We were born the same year," AJ said matter of factly.

"Yes but you were born a month before Tony,"  he said.

"I'll come meet him though how much for the match," he said coldly.

" I'm your father," he said shocked.

"You disowned me remember I don't work for free for anyone who isn't family. So. How. Much?" AJ  emphasised.

"I'll give you Five Grand if you win the match,"  his father said.

"Send me the information I'll meet you later to talk and I'll see about  meeting the old man," he said.

AJ ended the call before his father could say anything else. He sighed running a hand through his hair. He looked down at his phone when it chimed. There were two messages. One from his father and the other from Riley.

Location: underground pub
Date:  Sunday 11 September 2021

Riley: I'm driving Nay to school tomorrow I was wondering if you wanted to tag along ?

AJ sighed looking at his phone. He wanted to go with his friend but he'd have to spend the whole day preparing for the match. He also wanted to avoid Naomi because he knew if he saw her he wouldn't be able to control himself.

AJ: sorry bro I can't something came up.

AJ put the phone away and went back to his bed. He got into the bed and put his phone on the charger. He shut off his brain to stop thinking about anything. He closed his eyes and tried to fall asleep. As he closed his eyes he found himself thinking of a certain nineteen year old brunette with bright brown innocent eyes and a smile that lit up the room. He sighed when he rolled over and finally dosed off
