Hey, I'm Noah James Bennett, I'm 26-years-old, and gay. I'm 5'10", muscular build, short black hair, brown eyes, and a dimple in my right cheek when I smile. I have tattoos from my neck down to my fingers, and I work as a pediatric doctor in a cancer ward of a hospital.

I LOVE my job! I have been a doctor for two years now, and I hate that these children (anyone really) have cancer, but I try to make them as happy as possible, and that they have as much fun as they can. I am always smiling, and trying to be as bubbly as possible when I'm with the kids, and their parents. They don't need a grumpy doctor when the kids and parents are already stressed, and sick. I work at the Metro Hospital in San Diego, California.

I was born in Salem, Oregon, and I lived there until I was 7-years-old with my mum Nicole. Mum and I moved to Los Angeles, California shortly after my seventh birthday when she took a new job at a law firm. When I was 10-years-old, mum was driving her and I home from dinner out, when a drunk driver ran a red light and struck mum's car on her side, and she died on the way to the hospital. I walked away with cuts and bruises all over my body, and some left physical scars. I also broke my left arm and collarbone.

After mum'd death, I went to live in a foster home since my father was never mentioned on my birth certificate, and I had no other living relatives. I lived with that foster family for six months until the court found my father through a DNA test. Thomas Lake is my father, who I lived with for three years until he died of lung cancer, and I was placed back in the foster care system again. Two years later, I was placed with the Bennett family - Kenneth and Jace, who have three children - Asher, Abbi, and Miles.

Kenneth is a car mechanic, who owns his own garage, and Jace is a high school history teacher. Asher and Abbi are Kenneth's biological twin children from a previous marriage, and Miles is their adopted child. When I turned 16-years-old, Kenneth and Jace adopted me, and when this happened Asher and Abbi were 17-years-old, and Miles was 12-years-old.

I live in an apartment with my best friend Riley Jones, who is also 26-years-old. He is a surgeon at the same hospital that I work at. He has been my best friend for the last nine years as we were college roommates since our second year of university. Riley is 6', muscular build, tattoos on his chest, stomach, and arms. He has long curly brown hair, and mossy green eyes.

I've been up since 4:30 a.m. for my 6 a.m. shift, and I work today and the next two, and then have two days off. I've showered, lotioned my entire body, brushed my teeth and hair, sprayed cologne. It's Monday morning, and I'm dressed in my light blue scrubs with 'Scooby-Doo' characters all over.

Walking out of my room with scatchel filled my wallet, keys, phone, and a book in case I find a moment to read while eating lunch. Stopping at Riley's closed bedroom door, I soflty knock, and wait to see if he is awake yet. When he doesn't answer, I knock again a little louder this time, and he calls out in a sleepy-gruff voice for me to come in. Quietly opening the door, I step just inside the room to find him almost ready to leave.

"Are we stopping to grab breakfast on the way?" he asks, and his voice is still raspy, and he walks toward me with his own satchel filled with items he needs.

Eagerly nodding, I exit the room ahaead of him, so we can leave. When we reach Riley's red, 2017 Dodge Ram, we climb inside, and he drives us to and through the McDonald's drive up window to get our usual orders. Riley always drives us to work as I don't own a vehicel or have a driver's license for that matter. I refused and still refuse to learn after being in the crash that killed mum. I think it took my about five years until I didn't completly freak out even being in a car.

When the worker hands Riley the food bag, and our coffees, he hands me a coffee and the bag. I place the bag on my lap after placing the coffee in a cup holder, and then I hand Riley his sandwich after I unwrap it slightly.

"Noah, do you want to hangout with Tanner and I after shift tonight?" he asks hopefully as he drives toward work before taking a bite of his sandwich.

"No thanks, Ri," I reply after swallowing my bite of food. "I will take the bus home after work."

"Noah, you need to be more adventerous," Riley sighs as he pulls into the hospital staff parking lot.

"I don't want, too," I softly answer, placing my empty sandwich wrapper in the bag before grabbing my coffee to take a sip.

"You should, and you can do this by coming out tonight with Tanner and me. We are just going out to dinner," he says as we climb out of the car. "You like Tanner, don't you?"

"Yeah, he is a nice person," I agree as Riley presses the open button for the staff elevator. "I will think about it okay, and let you know by the end of shift, okay?"

"Fine," he sighs as we step inside the elevator, and he presses the buttons for the second and third floors - my level is the third, and his is the second.

When the elevator stops at his floor, he steps out with a reminder to have lunch with him in the cafeteria on the first floor. I nod as the doors shut, but avoid his eyes. Once the elevator stops at my floor, I exit and smile as my body relaxes at being here. Entering the locker room, I place my satchel in my locker after unlocking the door, and then shut and relock it. Glancing at my watch, it's 5:50 a.m., so I head for the staff lounge for the daily staff meeting before each shift. Settling into the chair at the far back right corner, I wait for the meeting to start, which it does five minutes later.

"Good morning everyone," Shannen, the head nurse says with a smile, and everyone quiets down as Doctor Keith Moore, the head doctor, stands next to her.

"Good morning," he greets us before they tell us everything we need to know from the previous shift.

"One last new item," Doctor Moore states with a smile. "The hospital has hired a new hospital administrator, a Mr. Alexander Flynn, and he starts next week. Before he starts, he will be here Wednesday for a tour of the hospital, and he'll be holding a staff meeting with each shift, and ours will be 6 p.m. on Wednesday. This meeting is mandatory, so don't make any plans until at least 7 p.m. that night. Have a good shift."

We knew the hospital was looking to replace the hospital administrator, but we didn't know they had hired someone already.
