Chapter 8 - Emily (STILES P.O.V)

You never realise how much you look for someone's face, their dimples when they smile and listen out for the sound of their laugh until that person is gone. You look over at the empty chair that they should be sat in and your heart aches. School isn't the same. Nothing is the same without them.

It's been a few days since Theo took Emily. A lot has happened in these days, my dad was emitted to the hospital, he almost died because of another chimera. He's fine now, he working on the latest discovery a huge beast that has been going on a rampage, killing students. Scott almost died as well, Theo tricked Liam into believing Scott is the reason for Hayden dying and Liam went crazy on him. All the chimera's are back alive, walking through the hallways like nothing is wrong, like they don't have Emily held captive somewhere. Lydia's in Eichenhouse and I hate to admit it but with the amount of things we have going on, Lydia has been pushed to the back of all of our minds. Emily would hate us for that, she would never let Lydia stay there for as long as she had. We also went to Mexico and got Kira back. On top of everything, Emily's dad is losing his mind. He has filed a missing persons report since he hasn't seen Emily. I can't lie to him so I'm trying to avoid him which is hard when he lives right next to you and works with your dad. I can't tell him she's somewhere else because he will go visit there. I have to play dumb act like I don't know where she is. I have followed Theo, I have tried to find the Dread Doctors hide out but without the help from the chimeras I'm not getting anywhere. That isn't going to stop me though. I will find her. I will save her.

I was back at school again, pretending like everything was normal. Alfie strutted down the hallway like he had no cares or worries in the world. Girls fawned over him before but now they trailed after him like lost puppies. He smirked at a group of girls who erupted into giggles. How can he smile knowing that Theo has Emily somewhere? He could be torturing her and he comes to school like his life is normal, like everything is okay. My jaw tightened. Rage stirred within me. I was doing everything I could to find Emily when the answer was right in front of me, in the form of an arrogant douchebag.

"Hey!" I shouted after Alfie as he passed me. He ignored me, I knew he could hear me with that stupid hearing of his. So I followed him and pushed him into the locker room.

"What the hell?" He exclaimed, stumbling backwards.

"Where is she?!" My voice gravelly as I spat the words out.

"Where is who?" He played dumb, adjusting the strap of his backpack on his shoulder.

I took a threatening step towards him. "You know who".

"Oh. Yes I do", he raised his eyebrows. "but she's not my problem".

"Not your problem?! You are her boyfriend".

"Ex-boyfriend and I was never really hers", his eyebrows scrunched together. I didn't know what he meant by that but I didn't have time to waste on his feelings.

"You're going to tell me where she is".

"No".

"No?!" I raised my voice.

"This is on you Stiles. I loved her and she loved you even though you left her. You chose Malia and Emily still choose you. So no. I'm not going to help you and tell you where she is".

"This isn't about you and I. You know I don't know what's worse not knowing what Theo is doing to her or knowing", I said. He looked away for a second, telling me that I would rather not know. "It's killing me. I need her safe. I need her home".

"She's fine".

"What happened to you? You loved her. You were her boyfriend. She trusted you, you know how hard it is for her to trust people. We were friends, you were in our group. You hung out with us". We spent summer together. Our group let him in with open arms as that's why Emily wanted. We would do anything for her. I would do anything. I should've done something.
