Lake Havasu City."I can't believe you want to film our lives," Rose said, tsk'd and shook her head.
Riley stopped walking and turned to her. "It's not filming," he hissed. "It's security."
"But you're going to install some dumb cameras in the house and have it record everything."
He picked up his pace again and head to the dinning table to drop the box of the so-called CCTV camera. "When I returned home, I had this weird feeling Bryan was coming into the apartment," he said, eyes on the box as he began to rip it open.
Bryan was their neighbor and he seemed like a really weird guy, even to Rose herself.
Riley continued, culling out the manual, "So I thought it through and placed the order immediately. It's finally here." He motioned at the box and flashed Rose a toothless smile.
"For goodness sakes, why would Bryan come into your apartment? Do you store gold in this place?" Rose was being really sarcastic as she stared around the house with a condescending look on her face. "There isn't even anything worth a fortune here."
"The guy seems, yunno..."Riley gesticulated at his head in a way to say Bryan was crazy. "What got me to decide on this quickly was the day he explained how to tamper with locks using clips and shit. I know it sounded dumb, it was creepier than dumb."
At once, Rose stood up and went closer to him with a 'you're crazy' type of look plastered on her face. "So a guy tries to act all humorous, tells you this really dumb shit about using hair clips to undo a lock, and in addition to the fact that you're being really stupid to believe anyone is entering your apartment, you decide to purchase a CCTV camera? If I get you correctly?"
Riley was staring at her now and he was speechless.
She was still waiting for a response from him as she poked the box and shove it down to him. "Is that it?"
He dropped the manual and rounded the table to meet her. "Yes, Rose," he muttered, unaffected by her irritated expression. "I'll have a professional come install it later in the day, so you better get used to..." his eyes hovered around the house for a second. "...being recorded."
Then he left.
It was later in the day and Rose was still angry as hell over Riley's actions in the morning. She was looking at the television but wasn't watching it. Her eyes went to the small round camera opposite her chair and she raised her middle finger to it and rolled her eyes. Just then, her phone rang."Hello?" Rose spoke into her phone, to the unknown caller that just dialed her number. "Hello?" She said again, but was answered by the unsettled breathing of someone.
