WE ARRIVED at the country club and once we entered, my mother and I got greetings and waves from many different families or couples. As my mom did, I waved as well trying to be polite. We were adored in Kildare County. 'The Sanchez's' was a powerful name, we were richer than anyone on the island; even the Camerons. My mom loves Rose, apparently the grew up together right in this town. Their relationship brought our families together. It was rare to hear the Cameron's name without hearing the Sanchez's name, it's the same if you switch it around.

Our families were like peanut butter and jelly, cinnamon toast crunch and milk, a flower with pedals; none of them make sense without the other. Well except milk, that can be many different things.

Anyway, that made Sarah and I inseparable. We were always with each other, always put in the same classes, same sports, same extracurriculars. Rafe was more like an older brother to me, he had promised my dad that he would protect me always. It was terribly annoying at first and it still is, but it got better because I got used to it.

My phone started beeping and I stepped away from my mother. I looked at the contact name to see that my father was calling. I quickly slid to answer it before it hung up.

"Hello?" I bring the device up to my ear.

"Hi, mi amor. I need you to do a favor for me, okay?" He speaks.

"Okay.. what is it?" I ask.

"There's a compass going around town and a group of kids who are involved with it. Do you think you can get it for me?"

"I'll try.." I stutter out. He thanks me and we hang up the phone.

"Luci?" I saw Sarah and ran up to her. We hugged and she took my hand and led me to the table where my friends were sitting.

"Hey Luci!" Kelce greeted me and pulled out my chair for me to sit.

I smiled at him and returned a 'hi' back. The boys went on to talk about golf while Sarah and I made our own conversation about turtles and pollution. Then after a few minutes the boys turned to me and Sarah with smirks on their faces. This usually meant they were up the something.

"Luci.." Rafe dragged out the 'u' in my name. This is also a sign that they had some type of plan.

"Oh god. What now?" I reply.

"So. There's this party tonight-" Topper tried but before he could finish I cut him off with a expressionless "No."

"C'mon. Don't be a party-pooper." Kelce begged.

"That phrase is so immature." I state.

"Okay, well are you gonna make us beg? Because we will-"

"Fine, fine. Just please don't start begging, it's embarrassing."

The boys started cheering. They all came and hugged me, kissed my cheek and thanked me. I rolled my eyes and looked at Sarah, who was smirking with her eyebrow raised.

"What?" I ask clearly confused on why she looks like that.

"They get you almost every time." She chuckled.

"What do you mean?! They do not." I scoff and cross my arms.

"Mmm, yeah they do. Softie."

"Shut up. I am not soft. Keep calling me that and I will not be going." I threaten.
