Chapter 11
Candy's POV
"Come here, Candy," whistles Sam. I pad up to her as she approaches her dark blue locker. She pulls open the locker and begins tearing pictures of Jamie out of her locker.
"Are you and Jamie friends anymore?" I question. Sam wipes tears from her crystal blue eyes. Soft weeps fill the empty hallway. She crumbles the pictures in her left hand as she cries into her right hand. "Hey, it'll be okay!" I poke her right leg.
"No it won't!" She weeps. I roll my eyes as I look at the clock. 7 minutes till the bell rings. I gesture her to sit down and she slides down on the floor. I pad to Mr. McKenly's class, Todd's class.
I push the cracked door open and poke my head through. Todd is sitting in the middle of the middle row. I pad in quietly and stop right under his desk.
"Now today class we will learn about geometry..." Mr. McKenly's voice trailed off. Gosh he boring. I could actually hear snores. I grip the bottom of Todd's jeans with my teeth and tug. He kicks me off and reaches down to itch his leg.
Getting frustrated, I tug more forcefully. This time, Todd glances under his desk.
"Hey look, don't freak out, I can talk, but you need to go cheer up Sam," I command. He nods, sits up, and raises his hand.
"Yes?" Questions Mr. McKenly in his boring voice.
"I gotta go to the bathroom," Todd lies.
"We'll too bad."
"But I need to go now!"
"Fine! Hurry up!" Todd grins. I beam up at him as I sprint out of the room and into the hallway. I glance back and Todd is sprinting down the hallway, chasing after me. I bump into Sam as I fall back with a oof.
Todd plops down next to Sam, picking me up and setting me gently in his lap.
"What's the matter, Sam?" He asks as he scratches my head.
"Jamie..." Sam whispers.
"Jamie did this?!?"
"Yea well kinda."
"Wadda mean kinda? What did she do?"
Five words: she was being a jerk."
"How? Was she mean to sweet ol' Candy?"
"Yup. So Candy gnawed on her leg until she was bleeding."
"Wow. Candy must really hate Jamie." He scratches behind my ears, my favorite spot.
Just then, the sound of Jamie's shoes storm down the hallway. We all glance up and sure enough, it's Jamie, looking as angry as ever
