Don't Leave Me, Part One- Cheer Up (Marvel)

Avengers Tower- Tony Stark and Natasha Romanoff are sitting across from each other at a table.

Tony (Hushed): She didn't even fidget with my stuff when she was in my lab earlier. She seemed kind of off.

Nat (Hushed): Tony, she's been off since her family died. She's grieving.

Tony (Hushed): She seemed more distant though. Harder to reach.

Steve Rogers walks in. Tony and Nat look up, alarmed.

Steve: Am I interrupting something?

Tony: No, we were just talking about Y/n.

Steve: How is she?

Nat: Nothing has changed.

Steve: Did Bruce say anything?

Nat: Just that she needs time.

Tony: No, what she needs is to snap out of it. We've given her time, She's getting worse.

Steve: Tony, calm down.

Tony: I am calm, Capsicle. You know what? You can try handling everything. I'm going to my cabin.

Tony leaves. Steve and Nat watch him go and then look back at each other.

Nat: Doing your laundry?

Steve: And visiting a friend. Where is she?

Nat: Her room.

Steve begins to leave.

Nat: And Steve?

Steve stops and looks back.

Nat: See if you can cheer her up.

Steve: I'll try.

Steve leaves.

Y/n's Bedroom: Y/n is laying on her bed. The door is open.

Steve: Knock, knock.

Y/n (sighs): Hey, Cap.

Steve: Can I come in?

Y/n: Can't stop you.

Steve walks in and pulls a chair next to Y/n's bed.

Steve: I'd offer to make you lunch, but you seem pretty miserable already.

Y/n: Not hungry.

Steve: You need to eat.

Y/n: I do eat.

Steve: Did you eat breakfast?

Y/n sits up.

Y/n: What do you want?

Steve: I want to see you smile.

Y/n (tearing up): I don't deserve to. It's my fault they're dead.

Steve: Nat thinks it's hers.

Y/n (voice shaking): If I had- had told you that they were- that they were there sooner, instead of- of hestitating, then someone could have- could have- have saved them.

Y/n's phone rings. She picks it up. It is Peter Parker. Y/n answers.

Y/n (taking a deep breath and drying her eyes): Peter?

Y/n listens for a moment. Steve watches in concern as her face pales.

Y/n (slightly panicked): JARVIS! Where is Mr. Stark?

JARVIS: He left the building ten minutes ago.

Y/n (to Peter): He isn't here. Where are you?....... Okay, I'll get Happy to drive me over..... Yeah, I'll bring Bruce.... Stay on the phone, keep talking.

Steve: What's going on?

Y/n: Peter's been shot.
