A U D R E A

The autumn breeze blowing past the trees as light rain drops hit the window. It was September 5th also known as the first day of school. This was my first week in Mullingar as I had just moved down here.

My mum grabbed her keys informing me that we were leaving. Sliding into my boots and grabbing my bag I make my way outside with my mom following my footsteps behind.

"Are you excited for big girl school?" Mum asked.

"Yes!" I squealed.

As soon as I get situated into the back seat, our journey heading towards the school begins.

Walking through the double doors that lead to my final destination.

I looked around the classroom to see a whole seen unroll in front of me. Kids playing tag, kids playing with dolls, Others coloring. I was ready to join in but I let my shyness take over.

As I scanned the room only one person stood out in my eyes. I didn't remember his name but I remember my mummy and his mummy talking when they came to greet us at our door step with sweets.

I started my way towards him. I reached the table, he didn't acknowledge me until I coughed.

"Hi" he said.

"Hi I remember you! my mummy and your mummy are friends." I explained.

"I remember you too! I gave you and your mummy cupcakes and cookies!"

"They were delicious thank you. Anyways what's your name? My names Audrea." I said.

"Niall" he introduced.

"I guess this makes us friends now!" I added.

"It does! We can be best friends!" He exclaimed.

"Well in that case we need nicknames for each other. All best friends give each other nicknames!"

"Oh well then what could I come up with for Audrea? Uhmm.. How about A or Addy?" He questioned.

"I like Addy! It's pretty. Now for a nickname for you... How about Nialler or Neil?" I asked.

"I like Nialler."

"I guess that makes it official!" I said. "Best friends for life."

"No one else can cause us Addy and Nialler only us. Got it?" I held up my pinky finger waiting for his to connect his with it.

"Got it" he replied locking his pinky with mine.

It had been a couple days. I learned that Niall's birthday is coming up, it's on the 13th which was a coincidence due to the fact that my birthday was the 15th. Our birthdays were right there we could always have a party on the 14th to celebrate both of our birthdays.

Anyways..

So far we have done everything together. It has been almost a week since we met and became good friends.

I'm waiting for him to come over to my house because we get to have a sleepover!

"Audrea, do you have your room picked up yet?" My mom asked.

Well, if she means shoving everything under my bed then yes I do.

"Yes mum"

Before my mum could question me further on my room I heard a knock at the door.

That must be him.

I ran to the door and swung it open to see Niall standing there.

"Hey Nialler!" I ran giving him a hug.

"Hey Addy!" He said returning the hug.

I moved to the side to allow my now bestfriend to enter. we have been hanging out non stop the past while. we are non-separable I'll tell yah that.

"Addy come on I brought some great movies! my mummy let me pick one out for us to watch here!" he exclaimed, his smile not dying for a moment.

We gave the movie to my mum for her to put in and it left us on the couch.

Soon the movie came to an end and my eye lids soon began to droop over my eyes shielding me from seeing anything.

Mu mum ended up putting us in my room for us to sleep. Niall was on the floor and I was on my bed, almost fully asleep.

When I was for sure in the state of sleep I heard a lot of moving around and grumbles coming from the ground below me which seemed to belong to Niall.

When I tried sleeping again I felt the bed dip beside me and someone rustle under the covers with me, I jumped up.

I turned my head and came to realization it was Niall.

"What are you doing Nialler?"

"I couldn't sleep well down there so I decided to join you Addy."

I just decided to turn around and try falling into my state of sleep.

"Goodnight Nialler."

"Goodnight Addy."

hopefully this isn't bad for a beginning chapter. I know it may be short.
