Somehow someway the bank keepers never questioned why we deposited such a large chunk of money into the bank. Of course, more than 75% of the gold is at the house we purchased here, but the gold that has been exchanged for cash got deposited.
So now, we explore the city of Glasgow.
I absolutely love it here; it's so magical and makes me feel so free. Even though Erin is tagging along, it feels like Christian and I are 18 and 19 again, just two young kids in love on a treasure hunt.
We ate at the most beautiful restaurant in the heart of the city before we people-watched in the local park filled with people.
It almost—almost—makes my forget about the hurt Christian and I felt about the baby.
"Hi there. We would like to purchase some tickets for the boat ride," Christian tells the front desk at the dock. We're wanting to go on a tour by boat of the city, and I'm so excited.
"Yes, of course. How many?"
"Three."
"Alright, let me just print them out, and—"
"Oh my god," I whisper under my breath as I grab onto Erin's sleeve.
"Wha-my god," she mutters as I just grab my husband's arm and just start running.
"How is she here?" Erin whispers as we continue to run. To where, I don't know.
"What's going on?" Christian interrupts as we hide behind a few benches in the park.
"Sabrina's here."
"What?"
"I don't know how, but it's definitely to find us. We need to get on a plane and go turn her in at home."
"I knew you were around here somewhere," I hear that all too familiar voice say from behind me.
"What do you want from us?" Erin yells at her.
"The tape. You know that."
"We don't have it!"
"Then where is it, huh?"
I swallow before I choke up my answer. "It's in the United States."
"Then I guess I'll see y'all there! Can't wait for the reunion!" Sabrina giggles happily as she spins on her heels and leaves us.
"We need to go home."
"Then back home we go."
...
Two days later and we're back home. Of course, at this point in time I was hoping we would still be in Scotland, but no. Everything going on with Sabrina is a threat to my family and so I need to turn her in before she comes knocking on our door.
"We need to go," Christian says in the middle of the night as we slip out the door and down to the police station. Erin has been staying with Whitney for a few days until this all blows over; she also said she would take care of the dog while the kids are at school and Whitney and Ken are at work.
Yes, I did tell Whitney that I lost the baby since she was the only one that knew I was pregnant in the first place. She was wallowed with grief for me, especially since she had a hard time conceiving the twins.
Christian takes my hand, and we dart into the night together. The car ride over to the police station is silent; neither of us say a word.
"Hello, how may I help you?" the policewoman at the front desk says as we slide over the tape. She looks at us quizzically. "What is this?"
"There is a woman named Sabrina Ferrera in this town that is wanted for murder in Spain. We have the tape that proves she committed this murder."
"Sabrina Ferrera, you say?"
"Yes..."
The woman types on her keyboard for a minute before she takes a deep inhale. "Looks like she was booked over an hour ago."
"What?" I gasp. "But that's not possible, she—"
"Erin?" I hear Christian chuckle as he looks behind us. "What are you doing here?"
"Sabrina turned herself in."
"That's not possible; she would never turn herself in willingly. What did you do?"
"Just promised her a weekly visit and said I would try to be with her."
"What?" I shriek.
"She had real feelings for me, you guys. I knew I could manipulate her to turn herself in if I gave her myself in return."
"You're not actually planning on keeping those promises, are you?" Christian asks.
"Oh hell no. But I'm pretty sure she's going to end up with a life sentence, so I don't have to worry about it."
I pull her into a hug before I also feel Christian's arms wrapped around me. "Thank you."
"Of course. I would do anything for you guys."
"Then stay. Move to our little town."
"I—" Erin starts.
"Our kids are going to want their Aunt around," Christian tells her.
"Is that your underhanded way of telling me you want me to stay, little brother?"
"Maybe."
She thinks for a moment and bites on her bottom lip before saying, "Okay. I'm staying."
