Chapter 37

Recap:

Rin's POV

“If you must, pull from me.”  Sesshoamru told me.

“You will need all of the power you have, I cannot take from you, I have taken too much from you already.  I fear if I take more, it might cause me to rely on it more than needed.”  There was more to it than that, there was a hidden message for him to understand.  His power, his energy, his being, I rely too much on it, it could drive me mad, or cause me to severely injure him, perhaps even kill him.

“If it means your life, you will take it!”  He said staring into my eyes, and then turning it into a glare.  “You will not die, I will not lose you again!  You cannot be brought back a third time Rin!”  He wasn’t asking, and he wasn’t telling me kindly, it was an order, the alpha dog in him coming to the surface to protect its mate, no matter the cost.

I didn’t respond to that, because I knew that he was right, and I was not going to fight with him over this, not now, not with the tone he just used, I knew that I would not win this battle.  I took his hand in mine, and he intertwined our fingers. 

“Alright, well I believe that the battle will happen soon, so be sure to rest, you will need everything you’ve got.  My brother should be helping us out, so with that in mind, perhaps we will have a better chance, and may not have to go all out.”  Hopefully, I can only hope at this point.  If I use too much of my magic, if I go all out, there is a chance that I may not come back.  I could possibly be taken over by my powers, and never be able to return to this state, never be able to be with Sesshomaru.  Or, it could kill me entirely.

Rin’s POV

After the conversation, and planning with Inyasha and his father, Sesshoamru and I went out to one of my favorite spots in the forest.  Where the river flowed freely, the trees circled you, protected you, where I felt calm, and at piece.  Sesshoamru watched, as I crouched down and laid my hand on the earth.  I chanted and felt the earth around me, it calmed me.  He gave me my space, and when he knew that I was almost done, he came closer to me.  He kneeled down at my level, and touched my hand with his once I was done.  He removed his hand from mine, and put his hand under my chin.  He lifted my face so that I could look him in the eyes.  Our eyes met and I knew that he was worried about me, and I him, I was worried about everyone and everything.  Who else could they have working with them, or him?  What do they really want from me?  Sesshomaru took me in his arms, and carried me to a nearby tree. 

Sitting under the tree, in each other’s arms, gazing into the other’s eyes, light kisses here and there, the slightest of touches, and the surroundings.  It was a perfect moment.  I looked at him, and wanted to ask him questions, but something told me not to, something told me to sit here and enjoy being with him.  Something was also telling me to fear for the worst.  I relaxed in his arms, and continued to stare into his eyes, little caresses here and there upon each other.  I never thought I would ever find someone, let alone that someone to be Lord Sesshomaru, or for Lord Sesshomaru to ever want me.  I knew that someone was watching out for me, or I just got lucky.

I smiled at him, and soon the sun started to go down.  “We should get you back to bed now.”  Sesshomaru told me, as he began to get serious like he had been when I was a child.

“Actually how about we stay out here for the night, like when I was a kid?”  I asked, looking into his eyes.  “Please, I want to watch the stars tonight.  With you?”  He sighed and nodded as he tightened his hold on me, as I turned in his arms, leaning my back against him.  I laid my head back on his should, and we both laid there together, watching the night sky.  It was so beautiful, so many stars.  I wondered what it would be like to be a star, shining so bright in the sky, watching over everything.  I soon fell asleep in my demons arms, and snuggled into him more, to stay warm.  The last thing I heard was a purring like noise coming from within him, and he whispered in my ear.

“I love you, my Rin.”

I woke in his arms, and to the morning dew that stuck to the ground.  The sun was slowly begging to rise in the sky, and the light shined through the trees.  I looked up to see Sesshomaru looking back at me.  I smiled and brought my hand up to caress his cheek.  He leaned into my hand, and I soon heard the purring like noise once again, which caused my smile to grow.  He was soon lifting me up off of the ground and taking me home.  Once in my home, he left and came back with fruits for me to eat.  I ate them, and then thanked him, which he said there was no need to thank him. 

After breakfast, we left to go to the river, I wished to wash up.  Once there, we both stripped each other of our clothing, and walked into the water, which a bit warm thanks to me, and the fact that I put a wall up so that we could have some privacy.  We helped clean the other, and soon being clean was the last thing on our minds. 

Once we were done, we both dried off and got dressed.  I used a spell to wash our cloths, and to dry off quickly.  Being a witch has its perks, if you can control your powers.

I know that this chapter is short, and I promise that the next chapter will be longer.
