Taylor's POV

"So let me get this straight." I said, pacing the floor, looking at Krista's tear stained cheeks and Reed's shamefully hung head. "First, you took me outside and kissed me, Krista saw, so then you kissed her, and she stormed off?"

"Yes, and it was very difficult to get her back here."

"That's not the point." I hated to be stern like this, but I wanted to know what was going through Reed's head right now. "The point is, why can you tell one girl you love her, then go tell another the same thing five minutes later, especially on her birthday?"

A troubled look grew on Reed's face. "I don't know." He shook his head side to side. "I really don't know."

Krista stared sarcastically around the room in disbelief.

"It's just that since 2nd grade I've had the biggest crush ever on Krista, then when you came to school, I was instantly in love with you, but my heart just couldn't let Krista go. Something kept me tied to both of you. Isn't it fine to have a crush on two people at once? We're only 13."

"Yes." I agreed. "But it's not just a crush. You just kissed me and then went on to Krista minutes later. Honestly, I feel like you're taking advantage of me."

"No! Don't think that, Tay."

God damnit, I was raging with anger at him, but just the way he called me 'Tay' made my hand twitch and chills run up my spine.

"I'm sure Krista feels the same, right Krista?"

She was obviously giving us the cold shoulder.

"Come on. We'll never get anything done if you don't cooperate."

"Yes." She blandly replied.

"See? How do you expect to get out of this?" I felt like I could be his mom, scolding him.

"I don't know, Tay. I realize what a huge mistake I made. I don't understand how I thought it was ok."

By this time, Pam had already fleed the scene, going out with her boyfriend, Hunter. Too bad, because she was perfect for relationship advice.

"I realize it's wrong to be liking or going out with two girls at once, trust me, I do. How about this. I'll go out with each of you once, and see how I really feel then."

"What do you think this is? A dating game? You're just gonna test out two girls and decide from there? That's not how it works, buddy." I couldn't believe he suggested such a nonchalant idea.

"No, please. I know it sounds really bad, like I am taking advantage of you. But I know I have to shake one of my crushes. That's not possible if I don't know you too well."

"Jesus, Reed! You've known me since 2nd grade! Just get rid of this bitch Taylor and be done with it!!"

I took in a sharp, angered breath. "Krista, please. I'm mad too. Just calm down."

"Agree? Please?" Reed questioned with puppy dog eyes.

"Absolutely not!" Krista, obviously outraged, shouted.

"Krista, think about it. We can either deal with this and get it over, or not use Reed's idea and go on with this for weeks or months. Choose one."

Through her gritted teeth, she spoke, "Fine."

Reed's POV

I had gotten myself into a shitload of trouble. The problem was that Krista and Taylor didn't realize that I truly made a huge mistake.

"Thank you. I'm so sorry, both of you. I'm just gonna go..." I awkwardly stood up off the couch. "Text me, I guess."

I glared in the window from the front yard, seeing the obvious tension between Krista and Taylor.

Taylor's POV

"Krista, you can't just keep a grudge going forever."

"I can if I want to." She crossed her arms around her chest.

"Well, sure. But please, please don't. For Reed. He's clearly distressed with this whole thing. Make it easier on him."

"I'm just gonna go." She too, stormed out.

Reed's POV

I jumped behind a circular bush ion the front yard, dodging Krista. She couldn't dare see me. Krista got in a small minivan and sped away.

Keeping a sharp eye out for anyone near, I crept out from behind the bush, lightly tapping on Taylor's door.

"What are you doing? I thought you left?" She whispered.

"Shh. Just trust me." I tried to squeeze past her and back inside the house.

"No, Reed. You can't do this. We made a deal."

"No, I know. But you're the one I truly love. Believe me. Let me in, and I'll prove it to you."
