Narrater POV
In Urokodaki's house, Tanjiro was putting on his uniform.
He smiled as he once again put on his familiar green and black checkered haori, covering the kanji for "destroy" on his back. It had been two years since he last wore that haori, but it was necessary, he didn't want to damage it, after all.
"Are you finished changing?" Urokodaki asked.
"Yes," Tanjiro said, turning his head to look at him.
Urokodaki nodded with approval, after so long, Tanjiro finally looked like an actual demon slayer. Even Nezuko peeked her head out from her futon to take a look.
A few minutes later, Tanjiro was sitting in front of Urokodaki as he explained some things to him.
"Tanjiro... Now that you have officially become a demon slayer swordsman, I would like to explain a few things."
"Right.' Tanjiro nodded.
"First,' he pointed at the uniform Tanjiro was wearing, "The demon slayer corps uniform you're wearing is made with a special kind of fiber. It's lightweight, water-resistant, and nonflammable. A low-level demon's fangs and talons are incapable of penetrating that fabric."
"It's that strong? Tanjiro asked, pulling at his uniform shirt.
"Impressive, hmm?" Uokodaki asked, "Now for the nichirin sword, its color varies from owner to owner, and each hue had its own unique traits. However, there aren't many demon slayers with black blades, so little is known about them. Some believe they're a bad omen."
"What does that mean? 'Bad omen'?" Tanjiro asked, "How so?"
"Black blades are rumored to only be wielded by a swordsman who has little chance of going very far."
Tanjiro sighed, but not in disappointment. "Oh, well. I don't care if I'm destined for greatness, because no matter what, I'll turn Nezuko back." He said, with Nezuko watching him under her blanket.
"Yes, you will." Urokodaki nodded, "I have no doubt you'll make that happen."
"Thank you," Tanjiro said.
"One last thing." Urokodaki grunted as he lifted a large box, "Here. A box to carry your sister during the day, Built from a very light wood called kirikumo cedar. It's been coated in rock lacquer to reinforce the exterior and make it even more durable."
"Thanks, Urokodaki." Tanjiro said as he lifted the box, "Oh wow! You weren't kidding! It is light!" He chuckled as he placed the box in front of Nezuko's futon and opened the door. "Nezuko, hop in for a ride. Pretty please?"
Nezuko grunted, before slowly inching her way to the box's entrance, but then quickly retreated back into the comfort of the futon, unwilling to leave. Tanjiro tilted his head, and Nezuko hesitantly crawled her way into the box.
Tanjiro began to close the door, until only a sliver was left. "Nezuko, from now on we'll always be together," Tanjiro said as he fully closed the door.
"Okay. I'm off." Tanjiro said.
Urokodaki walked towards him, "Before you go..." He buttoned up Tanjiro's uniform and slightly pulled the strap of Nezuko's box, before placing both hands on Tanjiro's shoulder and nodding his head in approval. Tanjiro nodded back, and Urokodaki patted Tanjiro's shoulder.
Tanjiro waved, before he walked off.
Tanjiro walked along a country path, the houses few and far between in the distance.
