First Person POV

I sat on my bed, staring down at my bandaged hands. The damage was worse than I thought. I'd have some scars from using my quirk too much. I couldn't handle throwing someone up that high or controlling anything too big without cutting deep into my skin. So deep it almost cut to my bone.

*Flashback*

"C'mon, you can do better than that, can't you? You haven't even used your quirk yet! C'mon, I'm not weak!"

My eyes followed the white blur sprinting circles around the room, occasionally coming to swing an attack. I was covered in scratches and had a couple of small bruises, but nothing too bad.

"Use your quirk, dammit! You're not going to make it without using it! You won't get any stronger!"

I took a deep breath, planting my feet on the concrete under me. My hands came up in front of me, and I focused my eyes on the Rabbit Hero. My eyes lightly flashed and purple strings started to form on my fingers, a small doll shaped like the woman in front of me on the ends.

I beamed, looking up at her, then frowned realizing she'd disappeared.

Something slammed me in the back, sending me forward onto my knees.

"Gotcha!" Mirko said matter-of-factly.

I coughed with my hand over my mouth as I quickly stood up, scanning the room. "What the heck, dude?!"

"What? Do you think a villain's gonna wait until you're ready to fight? Huh?"

"I guess no-" I was hit in the back of my calf, which caused my leg to rocket up and me to fall on my butt and most likely bruise my tailbone. "Ow! Mom, calm down already, Jesus!"

"Stop getting distracted, use your damn quirk already!"

I huffed, deciding to stay on the floor in a criss-cross-applesauce position and this time keep my eyes on her as my threads appeared.

She came in for another swing, but I jerked my fingers up, making the doll flip up. I winced and yelped as the cords cut deep into my skin.

Rumi flipped in the air, startled. She smirked but then saw my hands and stopped bouncing around. She came to me and kneeled down to take my hand.

"Oh god, alright, back to the hospital with you before your damn fingers rip off. We're going to go back to maybe plastic or something, I don't think you're ready for a person's weight yet..."

I flinched as she pulled me up, careful not to touch my fingers. Blood started to drip down my fingertips and onto the floor.

"Right, c'mon let's get some stitches then we'll be on our way, 'kay?"

I nodded my head, clenching my teeth. "Mm."

*Present Time*

I sighed, balling up my fists and closing my eyes.

'I will get stronger. With or without UA.'

A knock sounded on my door. "HEY, KID, C'MON, THERE'S SOMETHING WAITING FOR YOU IN THE LIVING ROOM!"

I opened my eyes and looked at the door, deadpanning. "I'll be there in a second, Keigo."

"HURRY UP!" I heard Mom call.

"COMING! Jeez."

I shifted, swinging my legs off of the bed, cringing as my feet hit the freezing wood floor. "Gah!"

"M'kay. I'm here. What's up?" Tokido said, looking at Mirko and Hawks, who were sitting on either side of the couch.

"Hey! Your UA letter got here!" said the bird man.

"For real?!" Tokido smiled and dashed to the middle of the couch, jumping to sit in between the adults.

"Yeah! C'mon, open it, already!" Rumi whined.

"Alright, alright!"

The girl looked at the letter on the coffee table, taking it in her wounded hands and quietly opening the folds.

"It's a... disk?"

"Oh! You put it in the slot in the DVD player and-"

"I know how a DVD works, bird brain!"

Keigo flapped his wings and pouted, sliding down in his seat and folding his arms. Rumi snickered.

Tokido got up and walked around the glass table, kneeling in front of the black console to slide in the black disk. She pressed the button and quickly jumped back onto her place on the couch, punching Hawks in the arm as she did so.

"Ow!"

"Shut up!" snapped the rabbit woman.

"Fuck you!"

"YOU WANNA GO, YOU FEATHERBRAINED DUNCE?"

"BOTH OF YOU SHUT THE HELL UP! I KINDA WANNA SEE IF I GOT IN OR NOT!" Tokido shouted.

Keigo stuck his tongue out at Rumi as she put her arm around Tokido and flipped him off secretly.

"I AM HERE! To tell you that you, Tokido Yozamozu, have been..."
