"Our next lesson?" Your professor asked, peering up at you over her laptop. "You seem more eager than me to get this class over with, [Y/N]." The two of you laughed.

"No, no, it isn't that. I just, uh..." You racked your brain for an excuse, cursing yourself for not already having one readily available, "I just wanna get an early start on the next paper, that's all!"

"Right," she hummed. "And I actually wanted to teach world history to college students. Now we're both liars."

Your face dropped into a frown as you blew a puff of air out of your nose in frustration. "But Miss, I'm not lying, I swear! Isn't it better for you if i just get everything done ahead of time so that I can turn it in early and you can already have mine graded?"

Your professor sighed. "If it will make you leave me alone...it's on the Middle Ages and the effects of the bubonic plague."

Hearing "the Middle Ages" definitely sparked your interest, you figured it would be kind of fun to experience a royal life on medieval times, but then the part about the plague shocked you back into reality.

"The...the plague?" You shuddered, but tried to quickly regain your composure so she wouldn't suspect anything. "Got it! You'll have that paper before the weekend, Ma'am!" You smiled, quickly scurrying out of the room.

You walked back to your room, more nervous than you wanted to be. Out of all the times to go back to, it had to be the one with the deadly disease that would certainly do you in? If you got the plague and died, then your whole quest to find Suna would be for nothing. But then again, there was a chance he was already there, looking for you.

"I can't believe I'm actually going to do this..."

"[Y/N], hey, I was wondering where you've been!" Your roommate, Yachi, greeted you with a bright smile as she noticed you enter your shared dorm room.

You jumped, not expecting her to be here right now. Usually she's in a class, or cooped up in the library, or really just anywhere other than your dorm, since it seemed like she was trying to avoid you just in case you were secretly a "serial killer," as she once told you. It seemed like she let go of that paranoia now, determining that you were indeed harmless.

"Oh, hey Yachi...what are you doing here? Don't you normally have a lecture?" You asked.

"Yeah, but the professor cancelled today, he said he had personal emergency. So me and my friends are gonna go hang out! I'll be back later."

Both you and Yachi waved each other off, then, after making sure she was gone, you searched up a video about the plague, and nervously held your hand to the screen.

In what seemed like an instant, the feeling of soft plush pillows on the back of your head and the smell of something...metallic? Frantically, you opened your eyes and looked around.

"Oh, good morning princess. Is there something wrong?" Someone asked, presumably a castle servant or maid by the way they were dressed.

"Huh? Oh, no, everything is fine!" To ease their worries, you threw on a fake smile and sat up straight in bed, only to wince and shrink back down as you felt the worst pain surge through the side of your body.
