In reality, we have to realize that there are things that need to end. Breakups, drifting apart, finish lines.

But not every ending are depressing. Not every goodbyes are agonizing.

For instance, your last period teacher ends your class, you get to go home or hang out with friends.

Or when a semester finishes, weeks of vacation come.

So to speak, she was grinning ear to ear - forsooth, this is a delightful day for her.

⇝ DECEMBER 18 ⇜

"Oh, gee! It's finally Christmas break!" Her pulses raced with excitement, swinging her arms in a dancing manner as they walk home from school.

"You have plans for Christmas?" Nica asked, watching her spinning loosely like a little girl who was given ice cream.

"Absolutely, of course...none", Y/N cackled, teasing her friend a little bit.

"I'm asking seriously here, you sunflower"

"Sunflower?" Tilting her head with narrowed eyes, she asked her in confusion.

"'Sunflowers are the epitome of cheer'. I read that somewhere and I just happen to see that quote to you. You're so easygoing and cheery, can't help myself but smile too, pfft"

The lady said with a blissful smile like a dog with two tails. She pats her friend's head, messing her hair teasingly.

Laughing with her like their old days made Nica's heart melt warmly. It's as if it's been that long since the two became this free and happy.

"Huh, That's cute! And since you complimented me, I'll cut to the chase hihi"

"We don't have definite plans except for New year's eve. We'll visit our hometown"

The (h/c) haired lady muttered, remembering how she never had a jolly bubbly Christmas like other families, even once in her more than 10 years of living.

Every Christmas, her parents were always busy with their work, her brother either spending the days with his studies or his friends, and herself being always sick on the exact day of the merry holiday.

"Then, let's have a party at your house again. Even if it's just Christmas eve dinner. Invite the others too", Nica suggested, stopping in front of her condominium.

Y/n didn't notice that they already walked this far, reaching their destinations.

The reason for her daydreaming was that she was busy scheduling plans for her to spend a merry Christmas she have always wanted to experience - a Christmas where she would be joyful as the others, even if they're not complete.

Having an evening where they'll wear those fluffy knitted sweaters and scarfs. wearing a Santa costume, hearing the bells of joy, and greeting each other a merry jolly holiday.

In short, a sparkling Christmas night with her lovely family.
