Chifuyu

2: 21 p.m.

Chifuyu looks at his wristwatch to check the time. It was nearly 2:30, yet you haven't arrived.

3:00 p.m.

He waited...

4:00 p.m.

And waited...

5:00 p.m.

But you never showed up.

He was dismayed. Of course he would be, after all his effort just to make the first date an unforgettable one.

The stray kitten he entertained earlier was still beside his foot, probably sleeping since its eyes were closed. He crouches down to the kitty and gives it a head pat, when he notices it doesn't move an inch, he tries to check if it was still breathing.

But it wasn't. The kitten had died without him knowing since earlier.

From inside the store, Baji took sight of Chifuyu's expression who appeared to be feeling down after being stood up on his first date. He was just as excited as Chifuyu when he heard you agreed to go on a date with him, but the disappointment he felt was nothing to compared to Chifuyu's who was the one looking forward to it the most.

Baji excuses himself from the conversation they were currently having with Mikey and Draken to call Chifuyu, "Oi, come inside. Bring the kitten with you."

The blond male looks at him, his eyes moist with tears. "Baji-san... It died. I tried to feed it a while ago, but it didn't survive. What do we do with it?"

Like Chifuyu, he was also dismayed by the news about the kitty's death for he had plans on adopting it within the week after succeeding at his attempts on convincing his mother to approve of his request to adopt a cat plenty of times. He approaches Chifuyu who held the kitten on the palm of his hand.

"I'll take care of this, so go back inside. She's not coming, Chifuyu", he takes the dead animal from Chifuyu, then makes his way behind the bookstore to bury its body underground. Despite Baji's wild personality when it comes to the gang, he always had a soft spot for animals.

She's not coming.

The downhearted blond dried his tears before entering the bookstore. He places the basket on top of the counter table, taking out the food that was meant for the picnic to share it to his friends instead. It was such a waste that you didn't get to taste the red velvet cupcakes he baked for you.

Mikey and Draken hesitated at first, but Chifuyu assured them that it was fine and that he would be glad to share the food with them rather than throwing it away. A little while later, Baji returned inside the bookstore with a look on his face as gloomy as Chifuyu's.
