Mesmerized

"Hannie how come you never told me you knew the new girl" Josh whined.

"I met her just once before school" I replied patting his head "Don't get any funny ideas, we're just friends" I added

"Great" He said grinning from ear to ear.

"What's so great about it, Mr Hong"

"Huh? Nothing. Isn't she kinda angelic tho. What a sight for sore eyes" Josh remarked sighing dreamily.

"Jeez why're you so cringey. I just got goosebumps" I replied nonchalantly.

"Yah! Don't get jealous. If you like her I won't intervene I promise." He said putting his arm on my shoulder.

"Aish!" I looked at annoyed taking his arm off my shoulder

"Now would you focus on the project" I said flicking his forehead.

"Okay Master" He replied smiling sheepishly while rubbing his forehead.

It had been days since Heather transferred. Since the first day of school she claims to be close to me even though I told her not to annoy me. She was the kind of character who'd have a lot of friends. While I

just had Josh.

"Finally today I can spend some time alone" I thought to myself.

"Hannie!" I heard someone calling me as I tuned back only to see Heather rushing towards me.

"Yah! I told you to not call me Hannie. We're not even close" I said while she just held my hand and dragged me towards a cafè without even hearing me out.

"Order all you want, it's my treat" She exclaimed clasping her hands, sitting next me.

"No need to act so chummy with me. One Americano and some donuts" I replied defeated.

"And a latte for me" She told the waiter.

"Oii Hannie. Didn't you say you were just friends" I suddenly heard Joshua's voice.

I looked up only to see Josh in the waiter's dress. 'Shit, how could I forget that Josh worked here' I thought mentally cursing myself

"Yeah we're not even friends" I told him while Heather cut me off saying "Hi. I'm Heather, Hannie's bestfriend"

"Yah! I told you we're not bestfriends"

"Oh." Josh eyed me suspiciously and continued turningtowards the bubbly girl "I'm Joshua, and I am Hannie's bestfriend as well".

"Wow. I can't believe this grumpy kid has a friend beside me" Heather exclaimed while Josh laughed along.

Josh suddenly whispered something to her as she looked at him embarrassed.

"Here" He said taking out his jacket and wrapping it around her waist while she turned red.

'They look so perfect together' I thought sighing.

"Is it okay now" She suddenly spoke turning towards me.

I spoke, my eyes still on Josh "Brighter than the blue sky"

"Is it that bright?" She asked Josh while he shook his head and spoke "He's daydreaming again. I bet he doesn't even realize what happened"

"Oh" She said laughing.

"Maybe you got him mesmerized by your beauty" He teased her while she just laughed.

['How dare they flirt right before me and your salad huh?' I spoke interrupting him while he just looked at me amused

'Hahaha I know you support me but let me finish my story' He said laughing

'Deal' I replied as he continued]

"Not me. She's got YOU mesmerized while I die"I murmured softly staring at the ground.
