Keigo got home a bit late. "Hey baby bird. Snowbird." "Just in time. Dinner's ready." The couple shared a kiss. "Gross. Get a room." "How was school?" Hinokuma froze. "It's. It's not the same." Keigo hugged his daughter before sitting down. "You want to go to the funeral? I'm sure Kaz would appreciate it." She nodded as she wiped away a tear. As the family started eating, a knock was heard. "I'll get it. HOLD ON!" Keigo got up. "Oh. Shin. Hey." "Dabs here?" Keigo nodded and let the mafia boss in. "Dabi. Can we talk? In private?" Dabi nodded. "I'll be back." Dabi led his brother into the master bedroom. "What's up?" "Dabi. You know I love you, right?" Dabi wondered where this was going. "What the hell did you do?" Dabi chuckled. "I. May. Have. Promised your daughter to Chisaki-" "WHAT!" Dabi couldn't stand as he sat down on the bed. "She's fifteen." "Would you let me finish? I need to buy politicians so I needed to meet up with Chisaki. He agreed, but only if we had a merger." "So you practically sold my daughter to him?" Shinso tried to calm his brother down. "No. Not to Chisaki. His son. An omega boy. And I made sure-" "It can get called off?" "Yes. But only when they both turn 18." Keigo slammed the door open. "Baby bird! What's wrong?" Keigo looked to Dabi's eyes. It was obvious he was about to cry. "Da- no. Touya. I'm here." "Dad?" Shinso sighed. "I'm sorry. I had no other choice. Hino, you are to report to this address tomorrow after school. Ask for Chisaki." "Oh. Ok. Um. Why?" Keigo's eyes widened. "You didn't." Silence. "Fucking bastard. She's fifteen." "Mama? What's happening?" Shinso left and allowed the family to discuss it. "So. I'm going to marry someone I've never met." "No. Because as soon as you're 18 you're going to call it off." Dabi sat on the couch. "But what if it works out? Like Uncle Toshi and Uncle Denki." "That's very rare. My parents were arranged for marriage and my mother was beaten almost everyday." Hinokuma looked to the address. "What happens if I don't?" "Chisaki will send his assassins. As will Hito. I'll ne kicked out of the league and our lives will be in danger until we die. I'm sorry. Kei. She has to. You don't back off a deal made with the devil."
School ended and Hinokuma thought about the night before. She decided it would be best to follow through. She got to the front door of a massive mansion and rang the doorbell. "May I help you?" "Um. My name is Hinokuma Takami. I need to speak to Chisaki." The butler showed her in. "Master Chisaki will be down momentarily. Tea?" She nodded. "Uh. Chamomile and lavender if you have it. Please." A maid came with a tea cart and poured her a cup. "Oh. Thank you." Hinokuma sipped on the tea as she looked around the room. Everything was clean. "Does anyone even live here?" "I do. You must be Hijack's niece. I'm Overhaul. But feel free to call me Kai, or Mr. Chisaki." Hinokuma introduced herself. "My uncle told me to report here. I'm." She stuttered. "Yes. All I simply ask is you and my son go out. On dates and what not. If it doesn't work out, you're welcome to decline a marriage at 18. Your uncle's cause benefits me as well. I've alerted my son of your visit. He should be done cleaning his room. Up the stairs. Third door on the right." "Oh. Um. Thank you, Mr. Chisaki."
Hinokuma got to the door and knocked. "Hold on! I'm almost done." A few moments later the door opened. "Oh. I thought you were my dad." The bully slightly cowered in front of Hinokuma. "It's alright. He sent me up here. I'm Hinokuma Takami. But most everyone just calls me 'Hino'. It's nice to meet you." "Uh. Yeah. Um. Listen. If it keeps the violence off of other omegas, I'm willing to take whatever you can dish out." Hinokuma looked confused. "Just please. There's too much violence on the streets. And if I can help my fellow omegas I will." "I'm not going to hit you. My parents raised me better than that. I could care less if you're an omega, alpha. Whatever. So long as you're not an ass. You're not an ass, are you?" The omega shook his head. "So. What do I call you?" "Oh. Uh. Yasashi." "Can I call you Sashi?" He nodded. "Is that an Xbox? Got any good games?"
The hours passed and the two finished one last round on their game. "Madam, your father is here to pick you up." "Really? Damn it. This was fun though. Oh. I have an idea. Wanna go to a movie Friday?" "Sure." Yasashi smiled as he said goodbye to Hinokuma. He got back to the living room and was met with his father. "You seems like you had fun." "I did. She's really cool." "You should smile more, Yo. You look just like your mother, and she would want you to be happy." The boy hugged his father. "Thanks for this, dad." "Of course."
"He's really sweet, mama." "He's a Chisaki. Rival to your uncle." "But, mama." Keigo stopped her. "No buts. 18. Cloture calling it quits." "But." "What did I say?" Hinokuma sulked in the seat of the car. "Yes, sir." She didn't want to argue, but she couldn't find what her parents hated about the guy. "But I think I like him." They got home and Dabi met them at the door. "How was it? You're not hurt? What did he do to you?" "Nothing. It was fun. I played video games with Sashi." Dabi and Keigo excused their daughter. "She had a good time. And tried to protest calling it off." "She did?" Keigo nodded. "What if they click? What if this works out?" Keigo looked at his husband. His eyes were brighter than they had been. "Then it works out. But you have to remember, Chisaki is the reason you had to leave the beta community, the reason Hino has never met my mother, the reason omegas aren't allowed to leave their homes." "Wait. You're blaming Chisaki? We left either beta community to protect your mother. Sure Chisaki had that law made, but he didn't force us to leave. Hino has met your mother, she was just a few weeks old. Omegas can't leave their homes because alphas attack them. Or did you forget how we met?" Dabi stood and shook his head. "If it works for them, then will gladly call Chisaki family. I want my daughter to be happy. And if this kid makes her happy, then so be it." Dabi left and grabbed a pillow and blanket. "Where are you going?" "I'm putting these in the guest room." "Why?" "Would you rather sleep on the couch?" Hinokuma his behind the corner of the hallway listening. She smiled and quietly went back to her room.
