We were running across the plain, desperate to get away from the portal, swirling next to the shed where I had gotten my demon wings. I screamed out in agony, as warm blood trickled from the large gash in my chest. The skies were dark red, a gloomy addition to the already horrible evening. Crows cooed in the distance as I felt my life slipping away. When we were a few hundred metres from the portal, Torray lay me down on the ground.
"Please don't die," he whispered, "you can't leave me."
I smiled and brushed a hand through his hair.
"I'm not going anywhere silly."
Torray leant down and I noticed just how close his lips were to mine. This time, it did not matter that he was a demon. Only that he was with me, and that was all I wanted.I thought he was going to kiss me when suddenly he was pulled back. I gasped as I saw Lizard and scar held him by the arms, and clearly he was outnumbered.
"No!" I screamed.
He was taken from me. Torray was taken from me. My dream was coming true. The evil demons threw Torray backwards and I scrambled to my feet, holding the large gash across my stomach in pain.
"Torray!"
He was gone.Tears trickled down my cheeks, only then remembering what was to come. Before I could do anything, a sword was brutally shoved into my chest. I yelled out in pain as Lizard cackled at his victory. It was unfathomable pain and I squeezed my eyes shut, praying that it would just go away.
Like in my nightmare, I faintly heard the war cries of Torray taking down Lizard and Scar. Then he was above me. He cradled my head in his hands, a salty tear landing in my cheek. My eyes began to glaze over, and I knew the end was about to come. Torrays fingers entwined with mine and I feebly attempted to move, but I could not.
"You always had such beautiful blue eyes."
And then, the last ounce of life was taken from me.

I shielded my face from the blinding light upon me. Feeling no pain, I sat up, blinking slowly. I was in a vast field, with gorgeous green trees and the blazing sun shining down onto me. Sitting on a large stone across from me, was a girl. She had stunning white wings emerging from her back and she wore a white flowing dress. So this is what happens once you die. This girl must be an angel. The angel gestured for me to come to her, and I did.
"Am I dead?" I whispered.
The girl smiled kindly and shook her head.
"Not just yet.""What do you mean?" I asked in confusion.
"We are giving you a choice."
The angel fluttered her wings gracefully, and I thought back to the dream I had when I was flying through the sky. I stared at the wings wistfully.
"And that is?"
"Sydney, you are the seventh reincarnation of the Earth Angel. You have a chance to stop the problems the demons have placed upon your world. It is your choice to either continue on to the land after, or go back in your true form."
I stared in shock at the angel. How could me being the earth angel make any sense at all? I pointed at her wings.
"What about you? You seem very angelly. Why can't you do it?"
The angel found my comment amusing. She laughed as though I was a young child, unknowing to all reasonable things."Yes, I am an angel, but not of this planet. You, Sydney, are the Earth angel. Have you had any pains in your shoulder blades recently? Any random feathers fallen from nowhere?"
When I did not answer, she continued.
"That's what I thought," she smiled.
"But I'm not powerful. I'm just a human. There is nothing I can do to stop Norus and his army of demons. And what about the raptors? And the wolves? I have no power against them!" I argued.
"It's your choice," the angel sighed, "but you must decide now. Continue to the land after, or have a shot at saving Earth."
It was a tough decision. Clearly saving Earth was a lot more reasonable, but where we were now was so beautiful and deprived of creatures, that it would be hard to turn away from it. Then I thought of Torray.
"I choose..."

Torrays POV:
Anger burned through me. As I cradled Sydney's head in my hands, all I could see was the image of Lizard slicing into her chest. Rage was consuming me and I roared out.
"No!"
Lizard and Scar were recovering. I softly kissed Sydney on the forehead before turning to the filthy pair. I directed all my anger at Lizard, and propelled myself at him with incredible speed. Before Lizard could react, I had ripped his heart out of his chest. Without blinking, I dropped the bloody heart to the ground and made my way towards a very frightened Scar. He whimpered in panic as he took in what I had done to his friend. I did not care. All I could think about was revenge to the demons who had taken her. I chased after Scar, and lunged forwards at his throat. We struggled mid air, but eventually my strength was too much for him. I snapped his throat and kicked him to the ground, yelling out an animal-like war cry.
Panting I stood back and crumpled to the ground. They killed her. Sydney. They killed the woman I loved. At that thought, unwanted tears began pouring down my cheek. Yes, I loved Sydney. And now she is gone.
I was in a terrible state when Norus found me huddled protectively over Sydney's lifeless body. He smiled triumphantly as he lifted his golden sword from its sheath.
"It's time for you to meet your dead girlfriend again," he smirked, advancing towards me.
I raised my hands up in surrender.
"Go ahead. Do it. I don't care anymore."
Norus smiled wider.
"Oh, but killing you would be too easy," he chuckled, "I am going to cut your limbs off one by one, and when they super heal back, I will cut them off again. So too bad, you will never see that stupid human ever again.""I wouldn't be so sure about that."
Norus and I whirled around. Where Sydney's body had been lying practically underneath me, it had disappeared, and now a beautiful angel with flowing white wings flittered above us. She might have a new set of wings, but I still recognised her.
"Sydney!" I gasped in joy.
Tears threatened to fall once more, but I did not want to make a scene. Sydney smiled brightly in all her beauty, and I pulled her into a hug, gripping on so tight, I never wanted to let go. Her feathery wing brushed my bat-like one, and all I could feel was an overwhelming sense of relief that she was alive."How?" Gaped Norus, stepping back.
Sydney stepped away from me, and I watched his cowering face.
"I am the Earth Angel, Norus, as you may have figured out. When your minions killed me, the angel side of me was opened and I had the choice to come back."
"No," Norus whimpered, "No. You can't be back."
Norus looked so vulnerable, and I thought of the ancient stories of the Earth Angel, and how it was said that she could easily kill a hundred demons in a heartbeat.I was surprised, but joyous that Sydney was the Earth angel. She stood beside me, wings outstretched and I could feel her body heating with anger as she stared at Norus' face. He had destroyed her planet, and now there was something she could so about it.
"Time for revenge," Sydney murmured.-----------------------------------------------end of chapter 14---------------------------------------
