Ten chapters ago was a new beginning.. ten chapters later, the curtain closes, and the end reaches...
Tuesday, the storm rumbled aggressively as it awakens.
The clouds looked like airy anvils drifting under the gleaming disc of sun.
Everyone was connected one way or another.
Like stars which hung above the painted sky.
There were no longer any disruptions or secrets hidden. Everything came clear.
No one dared to utter a single word. Only the air was whispering as the steely silence continued.
A tinkling sound soon came to our ears as the first pearls of rain dropped onto the spray painted benches.
No umbrellas were upon us, no shelter to protect us from the cold.
But nonetheless, we still stood there as a sheet of rain passed over
Without doubt, the blundering story that had just been unfolded was playing in everyone's mind on repeat...
"You- how could you do this to me!" Ji Geon's voice broke, a stinging sensation filled her dried throat.
Tears stung her face as her eyes burned with the pain of betrayal.
"I wouldn't have been involved with you! I wouldn't have lost my only friend! I wouldn't have lived with the guilt of her mistake!" Ji Geon screamed.
Jaemin abashedly stared down at the floor.
He stayed silent.
Jeno fumbled nervously with his hands, trepidation filled his heart.
"Look, no one would have expected that the consequences of a foolish dare would turn out to be like this" Haechan explained, trying to hide the guilt in his voice.
"No one wanted this," Chenle added, sighing in the process.
"No. If I had never fallen for you, everything would have been a million times better" Ji Geon gritted out, eyes as dark as the black hole towards the boy who looked as if his whole world had torn down.
Now, only muffled tears could be heard. Nobody dared to utter a single word.
The two boys who were involved didn't know what to say, but only to blame themselves for their moment of folly.
If not for the dare, their lives wouldn't have crossed.
The scene that changed the paths of everyone's lives was rather a joyful moment.
{ The bottle was spinning, every second ticked by was like a countdown bomb. }
"Jaemin! Your turn" "I dare you to date a girl for fun"
"Seriously?" "You know that's as easy as picking up a flower on the ground"
"Name anyone." "Find a random girl at the café and ask her out"
"Sure thing, you owe me one Jeno Lee"
"So this is why you left without telling me?" Chaewon muttered out sarcastically.
"I thought you were in danger Ji Geon"
"I lived for six months thinking that you left because I was a bad friend, that I wasn't enough"
"I waited for who knows how long for you to come back- but you never did!"
"And a few days ago I finally found you but you were someone else. You aren't the Ji Geon I knew from before"
"You know what.. it was fine if you left with a valid reason and at least contacted me about it."
"But turns out I was wrong"
"I guess I didn't understand you in the first place, my fault"
Scoffing, Chaewon held JinRin's hands and left.
"Ji Geon, I'm sorry, I'm sorry for making the mistake of coming up with something so foolish and insensitive, I hadn't thought of the victim's feelings, all I wanted was to have some drama and fun"
The two leaving girls stopped in their tracks, waiting for Jeno to finish his sentence.
"But we are here now not because of your break up with Jaemin and how you left Chaewon"
"We are here for the reason and you know clearly what it is"
Kneeling on both her knees, Ji Geon fell down and cried out her heart.
Tears streamed down her eyes like an endless waterfall, years of guilt and regret swarmed up to this moment.
"It wasn't me.. I swear it wasn't me... it was an accident... why does no one believe me..." Ji Geon thought through her wretched mind.
She felt as if a sword was piercing through her. She wasn't a person who would do such a wicked deed. Yet, everyone thought she was the witch.
She wasn't the one who placed Sewon in a coma. She wasn't the one who pushed her that night.
It really was all just an accident. An accident that was unpreventable as fate has already made its plans.
