A/N this was also written in my one-shots book so if you've read that you can skip this. Also the picture is how I picture Gilly in this story
"Han, Hamish!" Gilly banged on her brothers' door once again, hoping that this time they didn't ignore her. "Get up, I have to get you guys to school!" She stepped away from the door, crossing her arms as she waited. She could hear scuffling inside the room, most likely the sound of her brothers' rushing to get dressed. Gilly tapped her arm, forcing herself to not look at the time again. She already knew they were going to be late, and she's pretty sure the boys' teachers have just come to expect it.
She just didn't want to be late for work, again, and leave Ollie to finish the project that's due tomorrow... "Guys!" She yelled again, her finger tapping becoming quicker. Her foot soon joined in the mix, definitely making her look like an annoyed mother. She ran a hand through her shoulder length hair, messing up the small bun that sat on top. Gilly took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves, as the door opened revealing two disheveled looking eleven year olds.
Gilly raised an eyebrow but didn't question it, just walked into the bathroom to grab the hair brushes. Her brothers sent her a thankful smile as they raced down the hall, barely avoiding the table that sat there. Gilly let out a small sigh before racing after the boys.
She grabbed the bags that sat on the tint dining table, tossing them to their respective owners. "Okay, you guys are going to have to eat at school because I don't have time to make you anything." She grabbed her phone, checking her email quickly.
"Can't we stop somewhere?" Hamish asked, slipping his jacket on. His twin nodded, grabbing sneakers from under the couch. How they got there, Gilly had no idea.
"Because," Gilly stopped to grab her jacket, throwing it over her shoulder, "Anna's taking you guys out for dinner tonight. And that's three times this week you guys have had fast food."
"Are you working late tonight again?" Han asked, opening the door for everyone else.
"Yeah, I've got a project due soon and the quicker we get it done the better." Gilly grabbed the car keys from her bag, pushing away the temptation to spin them on her finger.
"Can we spend time together this weekend?" Han asked, giving the door to the garage a good shove. It flew open and Gilly grabbed her brother by the hood so he didn't fall. Hamish ran ahead, yelling shotgun once he was near the car. Han groaned, hoisting her backpack higher up on his shoulder.
"You guys are going to mom and dad's this weekend..." Gilly answered, throwing her door open. The twins immediately started complaining and Gilly couldn't blame them, their parents aren't the best people in the world. In fact Gilly took custody of them so they could get away. But part of the deal she made was that they had to go spend one weekend every month with them, and Gilly had taken it.
She knew it was the best deal she was going to get, especially when she was still in college when she stated she wanted custody.
"Gilly, you just drove past our school..." Gilly spun the steering wheel around, ignoring the honking it got her. She pulled into the closest parking spot she could get, which wasn't that close, and unlocked the doors.
"You guys have a good day at school!" Gilly yelled at her brothers, watching as they sprinted towards the school and their friends. Gilly rolled up her windows, laughing to herself as she turned up her music, letting it fill her car. Was she aware that parents were staring at her? Absolutely. Did she care? Not really. She normally tried to not embarrass the twins with her music, but as soon as they left her sight. The car became her personal concert.
She pulled out of her spot, drumming her fingers on the steering wheel to the beat of the song. She waited as cars flew past her, most of them ignoring the speed limit.
