Playing with your cat or kitten
It's so important to play with your cat or kitten, at any age. Obviously if you have an older cat then play time will be shorter and less active, but even our 12 year old cat can't resist playing with a little string.
Cats actually do like attention and thrieve at play time. If they are occupied and happy they are less likely to tear or rip furniture or curtains.
Most bad behaviour comes from bored cats.
That doesn't mean you have to spend an absolute fortune on cat toys, you can if you want, and believe me there are so many toys and gadgets out there, but also playing with a piece of string tied to the end of a stick or a piece of coloured wool works just as well.
Be creative and buy a few coloured feathers, tie together and then tie to the end of a stick and dangle it around, just out of reach of kitty, letting him catch it every now and again. Kitty loves running, catching, stalking and being with you.
