His dark hair and cold eyes held a spark of suspicion and interest as if she was a specimen under observation. He.......... who was he?
She racked her brain for memories, but she couldn't find any. A lone traveller ? But the little girl sitting in front of him ..... they are not a couple she was sure about it.
Part IV
Unknown man and Conflicts
Who was he? No... who were they ? She couldn't remember. Impossible! She remembered each of the guests here. Either it was because her data was wrong or......... that they were never there in the first place in the original timeline.
She glanced at the chaos in front, Mark had stood up to resolve the fight and the situation was tensed. The incidents around her have changed. She couldn't figure out yet what had happed, but she was sure something about the whole timeline has changed. Apart from herself, this was the first unstable element she found. Those two people......... she turned around to glance at the guy who was staring at her, two pair of sharp eyes clashed. Both curious studying each other's every move.
Rura suddenly stood up and moved towards the chaos.
She remembered there was a loud argument, the Kenny guy even punched Keith but before Keith could punch back they both were subdued by their friends. Although it wasn't just Keith's fault, they still demanded an apology, Mark didn't want to make a big mess out of it so he just conceded. But he didn't know because of this the next morning when this bulky guy was found dead, they would be the first ones to be suspected.
'Since Keith couldn't take revenge openly, he might have killed the guy in anger last night when he found him alone' that's what the guy's friends tried to reason, it was a good explanation to press charges against Keith.
"I'm sorry, we don't want to make any trouble" Mark said pulling Keith slightly towards him.
"You stupid mutt! you don't wanna make trouble then why didn't you watch where you were going?" The Kenney guy said.
"It wasn't even my fault! Mark why are you apologizing? If anything that peanut headed dog must be sorry for clashing into me!" Keith growled.
"What did you call me you little brat?" Kenney growled back.
Rura's eyes widened, she was amazed for a second how the sound from their throat actually sounded like. Mark was about to try calming the situation again, but Rura was already on Keith's other side smiling at the big guy.
"I remember even you wanted the last piece of chicken, but my friend here took it before you. Are you angry at him because of that? Ohh... look you even spilled all chicken and hot soup on my friend? You are really childish mister...... " she pouted looking at guy disappointed.
The man's face turned red with anger and humiliation, "I did not clash against this kid for a piece of chicken!" he snarled glaring at Rura.
Mark immediately stepped forward hiding Rura behind him, away from the angry man.
Till now Josh also stepped beside Rura and Keith. While Martha was sitting on their table with a high alert expression, clutching Charles' hand tightly.
"Ohh..... So you didn't clash against him for a piece of meat but you did purposefully bump against him. If I am not mistaken, I heard you and your friends talk about a dare game earlier, are you just making trouble with us because of that?" She fearlessly asked peeking from behind Mark straight at the guy.
At this point some of the guest's expressions changed when they looked at the two parties and the guy looked even more angry. Regardless of if he made these actions purposefully or not everyone would have some doubt if the man just approached them to make trouble.
"You little bitch-"
At this point Mark suddenly gave a threatening growl, "You don't talk to girls like that!" he warned.
Rura who was behind him also twerked, "Oh.... what a bad group of friends! First making him fight with others and then leaving him alone to explain. This was only he would be humiliated and blamed!"
"They did not! Why you -!" he raised his fist and swung him towards Keith. Everyone was stunned and one of his friends closed by rushed to him, to stop the fight.
Rura looked carefully, this must be the Trever guy.
Keith was stunned but Mark who was infront of them was faster as he grabbed the guy's fist before it could hit Keith. Meanwhile Rura who slipped from behind Mark quickly kicked the guy's family jewel.
"Ouwwhhh!!!" Kenney yelled grabbing his crotch and wailed.
"Sneek attack is a bad way of confrontation!" she said with righteousness, before punching the guy on his right eye. Everyone close to them were shocked by her two ruthless moves.
"See...... we need to be straight forward and honest before confrontation! Now that you know about it let's burry the hatcher and not trouble each other" she said with a serious expression as if giving in to that guy.
The guy who was beside him supported Kenney and glared at Rura.
"What a bitch! Why would you do that to him?" a girl from the other group looked at Rura warily hiding behind her boyfriend.
"Why? Only your friends are allowed to make unnecessary troubles and beat other people up?" Martha's loud voice argued back from their table.
"Do you think this is your territory?" that girl snickered.
"It's not your either bitch!" Martha growled.
"That is enough! We don't want anymore trouble. We will be leaving." a guy wearing glasses stepped forward looking directly at Mark.
One could tell that this guy hiding in the back had some authority to make decision, since everyone from their group listened and stopped complaining.
"Yes, we don't want to make trouble either." Mark nodded meeting the guy's eyes. There was a silent agreement and then the other group left. Trever gave them a glare before helping Kenney up and following behind the others.
"That was weird." Rura muttered looking at their backs. Last time that other guy didn't step forward at all. She didn't know he was the leader of that group since the third day he was the first one to be mur-......
Her eyes widened as she thought about it, on the third day the glasses guy from Trever's group was murdered and Mark was heavily injured. They both were perceived as the leaders of each group. Also till the fourth day many verbal and physical fights had happed between the two groups, while the other guests were extremely wary and scared. No wonder!
No wonder the killer didn't move his hands until the third day! He was silently observing them, she glanced around looking carefully everyone who was still looking at them. The killer was still observing them, she felt chill run down her spine as she thought about that.
Feeling a squeeze on her hand she winced, "We need to get this bandaged" Josh whispered tracing the redness of her knuckles which punched the Kenney guy.
They were red and torn badly. On her pale scarless skin they seemed even more tragic. Josh sighed looking at them in concern.
She didn't realize they were already on their seat until Josh handed her a bowl of warm soup which she had left half eaten earlier. "I'll get some ice from Mrs. Evens" he said standing up but was immediately grabbed by T-shirt by Rura in slight panic. The killer might still be near! She knew her worry was completely unreasonable but she still did it anyways.
"Don't go! I don't need ice!" she exclaimed clutching his shirt tightly, her voice was panicked and loud. Many people who were still looking forward to the fight earlier turned to look at them.
