"i'll hurt anyone who hurts you." I promised. my fingers brushing his cheek, smiling up at him.
I feel the burning heat on my back from the flames as i strut away. My body is covered in sinfull ash and blood that slipped like velvet snakes down my pale smooth skin, ruining my ivory silk dress. My vision is blurred, i squint my eyes as i turn around to get one last look at the disintegrating building.
I stumble over and get in my 1960's convertible mustang to escape the mess i've created. I start to drive away, the smoke slowly unclouding my senses as i get further away.(a/n turn the song on now please)
The wind is blowing in my hair whilst im speeding down the high road. The city lights illuminate the atmosphere making the veiw look almost euphoric apart from the smoke crowding the sky. My mind feels hollow, my emotions are numb. All i can picture is his face right before everything got out of hand. He was crying out in agony as his tears melted with the blood. His body went limp and his eyes became empty.
Surely watching the person you loved most die would haunt you, make you feel sick to your stomach. But it didn't. I felt nothing. No regret. No sympathy. Nothing, except for the relief that no one can hurt him anymore.
Looking down at his sticky red eyes, his tears become ribbons as broken shrieks tear from his tongue. "I always promised i'd hurt anyone who hurts you."
I hear the police sirens blaring miles away and im smiling thinking about those last few moments with him, making me feel content. So actually, saying i feel nothing would be a lie because I feel proud. Proud because i kept my promise.
