The picture above is a demo of the orphanage hallways^^ but always use your imagination if you don't like the landscapes I pick

**Authors Note**

This is my first story, and so don't think too much about how I write. I'll try to update as much as I can, and try to complete it. Please be patient!!シ

Also, I will switch from different viewpoints during the story, but unless I say it, the story will pick up from the previous pov that I ended it with.

Michael POV—

Life at the orphanage wasn't bad, until now.

Usually we would get up, eat breckfast, be homeschooled, eat lunch, rest, eat dinner, and sleep. All of what would be a normal day. Today I keep on waking up again and again, but it seems like my alarm is broken, and will only turn off, for it to turn back on again.

It keeps ringing. And ringing. And ringing! It could be another one of Liams pranks.

I quickly unplug my alarm, and try to sleep again. Only to find that it keeps on sounding. I look back at the alarm plug, and see that it's in the outlet again. I unplug it. Well, that's weird. And annoying. And I'm about to get mad, but then I realise that I'm forgetting about something.

Maybe it's me just being tired, though today is suppose to be something important. Maybe it's the reason why everything's acting so strange. I'm not sure, and I don't think it's possible. Is this all a dream?

I feel a tinging tension around me. Then, it feels as if it pops, like it disappears. It's as if the world has exhaled a short breath. The clock finally stops ringing. I start to hear noise fade in, like footsteps. I'm relieved, but what was—

The door slams open. "Happy Birthday, Doofus!"

Liam is at the doorway, but then enters my room to shake me up.

"Oh shut up, dumbass. I'm trying to sleep," I sass. Even though I'm clearly up now, and I'm just pissed. He continues to take off my sheets and drop them on the floor, and I wanna kill him there. "Can you stop doing that?!"

Liam hesitates, but then (thankfully) puts the sheets back on the bed, and hunches over my face. "Oh come on! You should stop being so gloomy for once— it's your special day! I'm sure everyone will be wishing to your disgusting ass"

"I'm not gloomy," I snap. "And you... you need to get out of my room."

"Nah, but you're getting up now. I'll come back with my megaphone if you fall back asleep. I'll see you at breckfast, or I'll see myself yelling for you to wake up." Well, I guess there's no way I can go back to sleep now..

Liam usually isn't like this. Instead, he'd rather let me sleep and be scolded at, than actually help me. Is he being nice to me? Wow, that hasn't happened in... ever.

He leaves my small, old room and I start to get dressed. I put on a black t-shirt, and a pair of white shorts. I check myself in the mirror. My blackish/red hair is in its usual state(in where I do nothing with my hair). The outfit's pretty nice, and my shirt compliments my eyes. I'm at a nice height too, 6'3 to be excact (190.5cm).

Such a great start to my birthday, I think. (/j)

I go downstairs to the dining hall, and get my food. I scoop some scrambled eggs, and waffles with juice. Around the corner, I see that someone drop their fork, and immediately go to pick it up. She then looks at me, and then turns away.

I go to sit next to Liam, and his friends. Liam looks like how he always does. He usually goes for a solid color shirt, and a pair of athletic shorts in the summer. His flat, dirty blonde hair is always everywhere, and his brown eyes are just... brown? Not really anything more. (I'm sick of every. single. character. always having eyes like blue, or hazel, etc— what about brown?)

He's talking with his friends, and then asks if I'm going to do anything for my birthday.

"You've known me for so long now, I'm pretty sure you know the answer," I say.

"Well, you never do anything for your birthday, and that's no fun. I want to eat some cake, you know? Have a party." Liam wolfs down his waffle, and continues.

"I mean actually, there isn't much you can do in this place. I just wish I'll get adopted, so then I won't be cooped up in this dirty-ass building for the rest of my life. But you know that never happens, not with us anyways."

"Sorry you'll have no lit party on my birthday," I tease.

Suddenly, one of Liams friends slams the table with his fist. A knife flies up, and almost glazes Liam.

"Dude, what the fuvk! You could've killed me!" Liam's face is shocked, and looks at his friend in horror.

"Sorry man," he replies. "I got angry at my bud here, you see."

Liam scoffs, and continues to eat. I'm amused, and sees how everyone goes back to what they were doing before. I then pick up one of my waffles with my fork, and chew it down.

The weird feeling came back again. The air tensed up, and my food vanished. It seemed as if everything glitched out, and I was the only one who was still in control of myself.

Clang!

What is that familiar noise? I look back up again, and I realise that I'm still in my seat, but everyone is in different places. I see the same previous girl pick up her fork, and then turn towards me in the same excact manner, except that I'm now in a different spot.

Uhm. Why does everything have to be like this? Am I getting deja vu?
