Life in Mumbai city is hectic from what i have seen so far. People here are always busy with something or the other. No one has time for anyone else.
. My aunt's house is big and she has given me my very own room. She also offered to help me decorate it. She seems to be a nice lady.
But i have had some very funny experiences since i have come here. For instance, yesterday i was goin out for a walk when a lady in my neighbourhood stopped me.
"Oh my god. Such a short skirt. You should not wear these here.Don't you know that this city is not safe for women. Don't you?" and when i opened my mouth to say something she interrupted me "And what kind of a top is that.God, what is up with kids these day?"
"I am sorry but i had no idea." I said and she thought that i was being sarcastic or something so she made an angry face and yelled at me." Rude child! Where are your manners? So arrogant."
"But ma'am I was telling the tru..."
"Shsh! And now you are arguing. You think i am stupid? What do you think of yourself young lady?" she said giving me a i-am-dissapointed-in you look and went inside leaving me there alone and confused.
But something great happened during this whole experience. I made my first friend in India. And she is one sweet girl. So this is what exactly happened.
When i was standing there trying to figure out what the hell was wrong with that lady, a girl who had been watching the whole drama, came upto me and started laughing.
"This was so funny." she said and sfter a minute i started laughing too.
"Yeah actually, it kinda was."
"Oh, by the way, i am Shreya. You must be new here." she says shaking my hand.
"Hey! Umm yes i am new here. I now live here with my Aunt, in that house, over there." i point towards the house.
"Oh. Mine is right next to yours. And hey aren't you going to tell me your name?"
"Yeah sorry. It's Megan."
"Well nice to meet you Megan. See you around, then! Bye" she said and ran off.
