one last time

It has been a week since you were officially announced as the soon to be 12th fatui harbinger. Most of the harbingers have left for their mission and today would be the day you'll be assigned for your first mission and after this you would officially be the 12th harbinger. You had been working your way up the ranks since you joined the fatuis. It took a lot of effort but a lot less time.

since it was your first mission You were to be dispatched with one of the other harbinger for some training and experience. You waited in the big garden for one of the harbingers to come and take you with them .

After some time of waiting a red haired boy came to the garden. " are you the one I'll be going with ?" You asked.

"Seems like it , we are departing right away tsaritsa's requested to have it done ad quickly as possible"

you wore your red and white dress with a velvet over coat , your sword on your back hidden with the over coat.

"No one would be able to guess such a pretty lady would have a sword hidden in her back" childe remarked

"That's exactly what I want them to think" you smirked. "We're leaving by ship and landing on Liyue keep yourself close to me and keep our mission confidential"

"I know" you said. You ascended the ship and headed straight towards your cabin.

"It's so hard to have to keep up this appearance ugh I miss home why do I have to be the one to wear these ridiculously fancy outfits . Can I even fight in these gosh " you sighed as you landed your back on your bed.

You took a shower and changed into a silk robe. "Everything about me looks fancy" you looked at yourself in the mirror and sighed.

There was a knock on the door. You went to open it and childe stood infront of you . "Its time to eat-" he suddenly stopped and examined you up and down . "My eyes are up here" you exclaimed.

"You shouldn't open the door without being fully dressed miss"

"Y/n not miss also no one here could dare lay a finger on me childe"

"Oh really?" Childe walked towards you he came so close that you could feel the warmth of his body. You didn't move an inch.

"Well dinners ready I don't wanna keep babysitting you , I expect you to be there in 10 Mins" childe suddenly walked away with a huge change in his tone.

As the door closed behind childe you realised you had been holding your breath since a while. You exhaled and changed out of your robe . You went to the roof of the ship where the food was already set on the table.

You sat down with childe. "I'll explain the mission to you now, our one and only goal is to steal the heart of mazu , know that we will take it by force if it's not given to us which is highly likely"

Mazu. You had heard this name come up before she was the goddess of sea. "The goddess of kindness" but ironically It is said that she is a ruthless and merciless god.

"how are we supposed to steal the heart of such a ruthless god" you interrupted. "that's what we have to figure out" childe said. One of the recruits of childe questioned "pardon me sir but ruthless? Isn't she the 'goddess of kindness'?"

Childe let out a silent laugh "she is anything but the goddess of kindness. Very few people know of this but the land she ruled. It no longer exists , the people in them are nothing but some waste in the sea because she killed them"

You looked at childe with an amused expression. "Is that true?" You asked "that's what I heard" childe answered. Childe commanded his recruit to leave and you both ate with an awkward silence in the air.
