Song oneshot! (AKA the main plot)

I've been feeling really hurt and needed someplace to release pent up feelings.

TW: CONTAINS SOME LIGHT AND CHARLI/CHARLIGHT BASHING (I have absolutely nothing against them and I love them so much, but I just needed them to be kinda occ for the sake of the plot so... yeah.)

CONTAINS DESCRIPTIONS/MENTIONS OF SELF HARM AND SUICIDAL THOUGHTS (I don't do it I promise, but please if you are going through this talk to someone. And if anyone ever wants some random stranger on the internet to talk to, I would be willing to help! Just shoot me a message or smth.)

BTW the first part is inspired by a drawing I saw on insta made by WhyAmIHereLikeBruh

When the morning comes
When we see what we've become
In the cold light of day we're a flame in the wind
Not the fire that we've begun

Luca POV:

I wait patiently as the worker prints and hands me seven movie tickets. Some new horror movie starring a celebrity Alex is into, hence her dragging us out to go watch it. No one was busy, and it would be nice to get out of the house, dorm...? I don't really know what to call it, not that it really matters.

Siren cop huh? I steal a glance at the movie poster nearby, cringing at the over-fearful expressions made by the actors. Sounds.... Interesting.

"Hey guys, I got our tickets!" I turn back, calling out to my friends as I look to see what theater we're in. Alex grabs one of the tickets, scanning it to find the theater room number. "Alright looks like we're in room... six hundred and sixty-six."

"Oh-" "That's uh... nice, I guess." I note as the squad hesitantly agrees, walking down to the surprisingly empty room and taking front row seats. I sit down next to Charli, listening to the background noise of Jaxx and Sora bickering over the middle seat; the previews already rolling. I zone out a little, quickly snapping out of it as Charli's voice fills the air.

"Light, Luca! Are you excited about the movie? I'm not really good with scary movies, I'm glad you guys are sitting with me!" I ignore the heat creeping up my neck, opting for a cheerful smile. "O-oh! Uh- Of course Charli! I'll hold you as much as you need through the movie, don't worry about it!" "Thanks Luca. Y'know, I'm really glad to have a friend like you!"

Yeah, friend...

I stare into my popcorn and akwardly listen to her chatting and giggling with Light for a while, before the lights turn off and the movie finally begins to play.

About half an hour in, it becomes pretty obvious that Levi was right. The movie is pretty cheesy, nothing I would watch on my own time if I'm being completely honest. I guess the plot is alright, but they could be done a little better with the effects...

My train of thought screeches to a halt as I hear a whimper, and I quickly turn around to see Charli curled into herself.

"This is s-so scary!"

Even through the darkness of the theater, I can see that she's trembling, eyes brimming with tears. Her words loop through my memory, and I quickly offer her the comfort I promised, the need to protect and be there for her above everything else.

"Shh... It's ok, it's ok! I'll hold you, Charli!" I reach out to embrace her, ready to hold and comfort her, just like I had always done. Just like she would do for me. But she flinched away, as if she was shielding herself from my touch.

"NO! I w-want Light to hold me!"

She cried,

and I froze.
