HELENA WOKE UP TO A BRIGHT LIGHT STABBING HER EYES. Her face scrunched up, both hands shielding her eyes as she looked away to see a dark-skinned man who looked to be in his mid-twenties writing something down on a clipboard. The said man looked up smiling slightly, "Oh good, you're awake." he said, setting the clipboard down and pulling out a small flashlight from his lab coat. "How do you feel?" He asked while shining the light into her eyes and pulling away. "Like shit." The man chuckled at her response and passed her a chocolate bar.

Helena looked down to her shoulder which was wrapped in bandages, a slight bit of blood was seeping through the fabric so the man began to unwrap it. The blonde girl was still quite tired from the effects of the anesthesia and was still getting her bearings. When she went to stretch out her aching wings she froze. Quickly, she grabbed a nearby scalpel and held it threateningly in front of the man who held his hands up in surrender.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you." He assured, keeping his voice calm. Helena detected no lie from the man so she lowered the surgical tool slightly, still keeping her guard up. "Well your wounds should heal in no time, the bullet only skimmed the radius bone in your wing and I was able to get the bullet out of your shoulder," Alan explained.

"Thank you." They stayed silent for a few seconds before Helena began speaking. "You're a Druid aren't you." She asked rhetorically, the man in front of her nodded his head. "And you're a Siren. My name is Alan Deaton, but please, call me Alan." He introduced smiling kindly to the girl who nodded slowly. "What's your name?"

"...Helena." She said hesitantly, "That's a beautiful name. Now, if you don't mind me asking, how did you get a bullet filled with mistletoe wedged into you?" Alan asked wrapping fresh bandages around her shoulder. "I ran into some hunters." The blonde explained, rolling her arm in circles once he finished. Deaton nodded his head, "Ah, I see."

After he had finished tending to her wounds Helena stayed at the animal clinic for a few days until she was able to fly again. During that time Helena and Deaton had become good friends, and the Druid introduced her to his love interest, Talia Hale. Unfortunately, the Siren was unable to meet the rest of the pack Deaton was an emissary for but heard lots of stories of Talia's three-year-old daughter Laura and the rest of the Hale pack. Helena would stop by Beacon hills whenever she was around the area but after 8 years she moved back to her hometown in Sicily, Italy. Of course, she would occasionally come by every Christmas, but only for a few days.

26 years later

Helena was due to arrive at the airport at 11 pm. The captain had just announced to its passengers the beginning of their descent, informing them to buckle in their seat belts. Once they landed Helena grabbed her duffel bag from the compartment above her and walked out of the plane while adjusting the sunglasses on her nose. She waited close to fifteen minutes for her luggage at the baggage reclaim, collected her suitcase and caught a lift in a taxi.

After a couple of hours, she found herself standing outside of a small, soft baby blue bungalow that was lined with white painted wood. Small flowerbeds nested on the outside of the windows as well as a large flower garden that sat at the front of the house. Ivy vines clung to the side of the house, and small mushrooms and yellow and white flowers sprouted from the ground giving off a mystical aura. Helena pulled out her keys which jingled in her palm and opened the dark, navy blue door. The smell of fresh paint and mint filled her nose as she stepped inside her new home.

Helena studied her surroundings finding all of her furniture had already been installed. From the door on the east side of the house was the lounge room that held an L-shaped couch that sat in front of a fireplace with a flat-screen tv hanging above. The kitchen was to the left with a white kitchen island, the countertop was made of black marble with the wooden base freshly painted navy. To the north was the staircase which Helena followed up leading her down a small hallway. There was a guest bedroom to the right with a spare bathroom opposite.

At the end of the hallway was Helena's room. The walls were painted with a light shade of grey with wooden flooring. There was a king-sized bed to the left with a white cover, a bedside table on either side with a built-in wardrobe resting to the left of the bed. A large dark oak bookcase sat on the east side of the room opposite the bed, which was soon to be filled with old diaries. Some a dozen of the diaries were held together with leather binds, the spines of the books falling apart while others were in much better condition. Each book was filled with memories from Helena's past, each page holding its own story with different people and places. North of the room was a cushioned window seat that stared off into the forest. A few unopened boxes were scattered around the house, each labelled differently with a worn-out black sharpie.

Helena opened a box that had 'Bedroom Decor' written in a black marker and grew out her claws and cut through the grey duck tape. Siren's nails didn't grow as long as other supernatural creatures such as werewolves and didn't look as rotted and overgrown but were still dangerously sharp, enough to slice through the thin layer of skin to puncture an artery. She pulled out a bundle of fairy lights from the box and let her skin split and ripped apart letting her wings sprout out of her back. She rose from the ground and hung the lights around the room. The fairy lights lined the corners of the room and occasionally draped across the ceiling to the opposite wall in a zig-zag.

Once she was finished she grabbed out her record player that sat in a black suitcase and rested it down on a bedside table and proceeded to order all of her records in their genres underneath the window seat, on the shelf. After she finished unpacking her clothes and other belongings the clock on her nightstand read 2:46. She flopped across her bed not bothering to get changed out of her clothes or lay underneath the covers. As soon as her head hit the pillow she was out cold.

I just wanted to say I am from Australia so I will be using Australian slang like rubber instead of eraser or Eski instead of cooler

Also, a lot of the things about Sirens in this story are mostly what I've found on the internet but I obviously added a few things of my own since there's not a lot about them.
