chapter 12 - the interview

KATERINA MORALES NÉE SOLDANO

My eyes scanned his face for any sort of hint as to what he was talking about but he was expressionless.

"Anyways, voila, I've finished cooking. Avocado toast with scrambled eggs. I really need to buy some actual ingredients," I murmured.

We ate in silence when Dante asked me a question, "What's your favourite food? Mine is kimchi fried rice."

"Oh uh... I really love empanadas... I never would've guessed kimchi fried rice was one of your favourites," I said grinning.

"There's a lot you don't know about me," he said giving a small shrug.

"What's your favourite genre of music? If you say country leave this house and never come back," I said pretending to be horrified while he laughed.

"No, I'm being serious. One of my ex boyfriends would only listen to country. Safe to say we only lasted a month," I said.

"Well you'll be happy to know I listen to everything except country. Frank Ocean, Rolling Stones and Daniel Caesar are my main three... Anyways thanks for lunch. It... actually wasn't bad," he said getting up smiling.

"No problem."

.... 2 DAYS LATER ....

It was Tuesday the 24th of August and it was time for our interview. It was relaxed casual wear so Dante wore beige, baggy pants and a dark brown button up with New Balance 574's. I matched his outfit with a brown crop top and light brown high waisted pants.

The interview was going to be live, so that put extra pressure on my shoulders. We met up with Alexia at the studio.

"You two look cute with the matching outfits," she teased when I pulled her aside.

"Alexia, why did you book this interview?" I asked her sternly.

"Kat, it's time the world knew about you. Not just family and a few close friends."

"Katerina, Dante, could you please come forward?" I heard someone call for our names.

The lady conducting the interview was Emily Rhodes. She was known for putting her guests on the spot and having them answer uncomfortable questions. Dante came towards me and held out his hand as we moved towards our seats.

"3, 2, 1... and we're live."

"Hello everyone, for our show today we have some special guests. Dante Morales and Katerina Morales née Soldano. Yes that's it, you heard it right. Billionaire Katerina Soldano has married Dante Morales."

She turns to us and asks,

"So I guess the first thing I should ask is how and when did you guys meet?"

I decided to answer first, "We actually met at a charity auction a few years ago, and our friend introduced us to each other," I said smiling warmly at Dante, who returned it.

"Wow I'm sure you're thankful to that friend. Now how did you guys successfully keep your relationship private even with so many cameras and paparazzi around? I recall that all of your previous relationships had been quite public."
