The Curse of a Gift
The problem with a gift is that you don't have a choice
Even as you take it and gratefully rejoice
Even though burden of it is painfully not your choice
But even as you know this, you take into your possession
The weight of it, the nature thereof, was never your decision
As much as it does to keep it, to throw it away hurts
Is the true nature of some gifts, a curse?
