I hopped off the bus and turned to my sister Claire, who was right behind me.

"Okay, we have 4 hours to get ready for the sleepover. We have a lot of work to do!"

My sister gave me The Look. "Amalia, it's just a sleepover! I don't think we need to plan out every single detail. Most sleepovers that I go to are sort of just go-with-the-flow type things. Relax!"

"I know!" I sighed. "I just want this sleepover to be the best bash of the year!"

My sister smirked. " Best bash of the year? I doubt it. But either way, it should be fun!"

"Exactly!"

"But that doesn't mean you need to go to extremes. Nicki is coming over an hour before to help with last minute set up. We don't need to have a lot of work put into planning this out! Just make a list of snacks and we can run out to the store later!" Claire explained to me.

I took a deep breath. "Fine. But by snacks, what do you-"

"Stop!" Claire sighed. "Just sit here and clean the basement. You can't mess up doing nothing! At least I hope..."

"I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that," I replied, as I walked downstairs to the basement to prep for the party.

Our basement is a modge-podge of vintage items, old furniture, and random assorted items left behind by one of our family members. Luckily, it was more comfortable then it sounded. "Hmm," I thought to myself, surveying the area, "what should I do first?" My eyes landed on an old loveseat with a stain that caused my mother to deem it unacceptable for the living room. "Furniture!"

"Amalia! What did you just say?" shouted Claire from upstairs. Oops. I didn't realize I had said it out loud.

"Nothing!" I replied, walking over to the loveseat and dragging it toward the ugly plaid couches on the other side of the room. As I doubled over, hands on my knees and breathing hard, I realized I had a lot of work to do.
