9. Meeting the family

Turning a straight man gay, Xiao Zhan had to admit that was his greatest achievement yet. He didn't regret it one bit. He looked at the young man fast asleep in his arms and smiled.

After that day at the mini mart, things had gone smoothly from then. They both knew they liked each other, if either one wanted to deny, that kiss, and the many more that came later was enough proof to shut them up. They decided to be together. As for the issue of their divorce, they hadn't mentioned it.

Yibo lived in a small town hours away, they could only meet up on weekends and they did so every weekend. If Yibo couldn't come over, Xiao Zhan went over. This was yet another weekend Yibo was spending with his man.

Looking at the marks he had left all over this person's body, Xiao Zhan smiled in contentment. This was their first time together in that way, he had fully possessed this man, he was now fully his.

They were at it for a long time the previous night so Xiao Zhan was not expecting Yibo to wake up anytime soon. Soon his phone beeped with a new text message from his father.

'That young man that you host every weekend, I want to meet him over dinner'.

Xiao Zhan had not tried to hide his relationship, naturally, his father must know he was now seeing someone. He had wanted to take Yibo home sooner but he felt the time wasn't right. Well, his father had spoken, they had to go over for dinner.

At first, when Yibo heard he was meeting Xiao Zhan's parents, he freaked out and tried to refuse. Seeing that was not working, he accepted his fate then came the tedious task of picking what to wear.

He had a lot of clothes, most of which were casual but he felt like he was attending some sort of high class business function and he had to dress the part. Xiao Zhan assured him many times that it was just dinner with his parents and everyone was going to dress casual but Yibo felt it was better to be overdressed than be underdressed. They ended up spending the afternoon out shopping for a suit.

When evening arrived, not wanting to leave Yibo looking out of place by being overdressed, he also decided to wear one of his suits. Well, it turned out they weren't overdressed.

His father had informed his sister that they were going to meet Xiao Zhan's partner today so she came all dressed up. His mother was also dressed up and only his father ended up dressing casual.

When they arrived, the reception was a lot warmer than Yibo had anticipated. He felt he had to do a lot to win over the heart of Xiao Zhan's family but it turned out that at the mere mention of 'meet my partner', they already considered him family. Xiao Zhan's mother tried to pull him over to her side so they could get to know each other while his elder sister tried to pull him over to her side. Both of them tried their hardest to please him.

Perhaps, the only person who wasn't too excited with his presence was Xiao Zhan's father. From time to time, he felt a cold gaze on him and when he turned around, he saw the older man staring intently at him. He had no idea how to react. As for Xiao Zhan, he just sat in a corner, playing with a cat, completely leaving him at the mercy of his family.

In a few hours, dinner was ready and the table was completely covered in a range of dishes. Yibo had seen rich people dine in movies but the extravagance displayed did not come close to what he saw in front of his eyes.

Usually, when they visited each other, they had instant noodles which tasted great. At other times, they went out to eat. This was the first time they were having a homecooked meal and it tasted heavenly.

"You should eat a lot. I'm sure A-Zhan is only feeding you bread and noodles", his sister made a joke as she filled his plate but she wasn't his sister for nothing, she knew her brother more than anyone else. The only food he ever had was bread, a lot of bread and noodles.

"Shijie, Bo isn't complaining. Whenever he is around, I take out time to order good food for him. I can't have him travelling for hours and hours just to end up with noodles".

Yibo wanted to protest but his mouth was stuffed full. There was no way he could so he could only look at Xiao Zhan from the corner of his eyes and cuss in his heart.

Seeing him look like he had just being bullied, Xiao Zhan couldn't help but reveal a smile. He wondered how he got this lucky and thanked that shitty ex-girlfriend of Yibo's for breaking up with him at the time that she did. If not, how on earth was he going to land such a handsome man?

Xiao Zhan picked up a napkin and wiped the corner of his lips, "eat slowly, there's a lot of food here. If you want, just tell me and I'd pack them all up and take with us. Better yet, I can have someone come prepare it at home for us".

Seeing how he openly displayed his affection for him, Yibo could not stop the redness from creeping up his ears. His sister blushed while his mother smiled. Their display, just like a newly wedded couple made everyone around them crave for such attention.

As for the father, he had no idea Xiao Zhan had such a caring side to him and watching care for his lover made him...cringe. He wasn't too sure about Yibo in the beginning but seeing the way he tamed his son, he felt he was in safe hands and it was better to leave them be. But then, a suddenly realization struck him and he hit the table with both hands, startling everyone else.

"I knew it! I knew you had a boyfriend all the while but you hid it from us and you kept denying whenever I asked you. I win", he turned to his wife. "Pay up woman".

Well, he suspected Xiao Zhan had a boyfriend but she felt Xiao Zhan was single so they both made a bet and now, he was asking for his payment.

"Pa, Ma, I never lied. I never had a boyfriend. Till now, I still don't have a boyfriend".

Everyone on the table paused their actions, visibly confused. The only person who knew what Xiao Zhan was up to was Yibo and he felt his cheeks grow even warmer. He wanted to stop Xiao Zhan but before he could speak, he heard him say, "Yibo and I are married. Pa, Ma, meet your son in law".

Papa Xiao nearly spat out blood.
