"I heard you're married now. I'm sincerely happy for you. I hope you don't hate me for what happened in the past. If I hadn't rejected your proposal, you might still be running after me even when I had no strong feelings for you".

Yibo had not seen his ex since she rejected his proposal until now. He was at a coffee shop having a cup of coffee when she walked up to him. Yibo felt... nothing. He thought he would have some residual feelings but it turned out he was wrong.

Without inviting her over, she took a seat next to him and started to spout all that nonsense from her mouth.

"Hmm, I have to thank you then".

"Haha, no need. I hope we can remain friends. So how have you been these days? I heard you moved to another town to start a new life with your husband, what are you doing back here?"

Yibo really didn't want to talk but it seemed this girl had done her homework. "My parents live here, I can come visit them whenever I want. Do I need to stay away just because I moved out of town?"

"No that's not what I meant. I just didn't expect to see you, that's all. So, how is married life?"

"Exhausting", Yibo answered truthfully.

After meeting Xiao Zhan's parents, Yibo and Zhan decided to stay married. When he broke the news to his parents, it took a bit of time but they eventually came around. He moved over to Xiao Zhan's hometown and since then, his waist had been worked on every day.

Xiao Zhan wasn't always like this, it all started one night when Xiao Zhan slept off after one round and Yibo called him old. To cut the story short, he regretted his words and still wishes he could take it back. Xiao Zhan on the other hand acted as if he had been injected with chicken blood. Whenever they got down to business, he didn't stop until Yibo either begged for mercy or passed out. It was sincerely exhausting.

"You see why I didn't want to get married..."

"You didn't want to get married? Or you didn't want to get married to me?"

Seeing that she had been found out, his ex kept her mouth shut. From the look on Yibo's face, it was obvious he had heard what happened to her.

Back then, she was dating someone more to her liking. She rejected Yibo's proposal in hopes to marry the said person but it turned out the person wasn't ready to marry a 'two timing bitch' to use his exact words.

Her first instinct was to turn to Yibo for support, feign remorse just to get him back but by the time she returned, Yibo was no longer interested. No matter how she tried to reach out, he wasn't interested in meeting her. Turns out he already fell in love with someone else.

In order to save herself some face, she pointed to a random man standing across the street. "Things didn't work out with my ex and I but that's the person I'm currently dating. I saw you over here and decided to come say hi".

Yibo knew she was lying, as for why she felt it necessary to tell a lie, he had no idea. They were in no competition. As for why she could conveniently lie, she had seen that man standing there for a few minutes, seemingly waiting for someone. Her first instinct was to point towards him. In terms of good looks, this man would not lose to Yibo.

Yibo was not a nosey person, he wouldn't ask to be introduced to her 'boyfriend'. As a matter of fact, she had long decided to go across the street and strike up a conversation with the man. Doing that would make her claims seem true.

Yibo raised his head to look at the man she pointed to and a range of emotions washed across his face. She couldn't tell if it was jealousy but she was happy because from his looks, she could tell that Yibo considered that person worthy. Besides, she heard Yibo got married to someone older, there was no way his husband could beat her 'boyfriend' in looks.

"Honestly Bo, I never pictured you as gay. All the time we were together, you looked like you were only into women. I'm happy for you, just a little surprised".

"At that time, I also didn't know I liked men. I wasn't into women, I was into one person. I had all of my mind on one person but the moment I met my husband, I knew there and then that I wasn't straight. I appreciate your kind words".

Yibo looked outside and seeing him turn, his ex also turned to look at the direction he was looking at. The person whom she claimed to be her boyfriend was no longer standing there. In fact, he was walking over, towards the coffee shop.

If he walked in and said nothing to her, Yibo would know she was telling a lie. Even if she tried to strike up a conversation, with their close proximity, Yibo would know she was a stranger striking up a conversation. Telling a lie and having to spin a web of lies just to cover that one lie up. She instantly regretted but there was no going back.

"I'm sorry I have to leave now, I'd talk to you some other time".

Yibo bade her farewell and hoped they never got to meet again. He watched as she left. Feeling he was looking at her, she couldn't bear to walk past the stranger so when she got close to him she grabbed his hands and spoke almost desperately.

"Brother please I need your help. There is a stranger that has been following me around, I feel very unsafe. Could you please accompany me for a bit?

This stranger looked like he was headed somewhere but seeing that a lady needed help, he couldn't just leave her like that. He had heard stories of fragile ladies been stalked and done unspeakable things. If this lady needed help, he had to help her.

"Okay, where do you live, how can I help you?"

She mentioned where she lived and said she would be more than happy if he could accompany her down the road to get a cab.

It turned out where she stayed was along his way and he offered to drop her off to which she happily agreed, clinging tightly to the stranger's hand as they walked towards the car while he did something on his phone.

Yibo was watching the whole thing play out and held his hand in a fist. How dare she...

His phone beeped, interrupting his line of thought, it was a message from Xiao Zhan which stated 'Lady needs helps. Come let's drop her off'.

By the time she got in the car, it took less than 10 seconds for someone...for Yibo to come over and sit in front next to his husband. The rest of the ride was awkward to say the least.

......

Xiao Zhan laughed so hard, he had never laughed as hard as that. Yibo on the other hand didn't find it funny.

"You cannot just believe anything a stranger tells you. What if..."

There were so many what ifs, Xiao Zhan knew but right now, the only thing here was Yibo being upset. Upset that his husband was 'claimed' by someone else and angry that she dared to put her hands on him. Xiao Zhan considered it cute.

"It's okay love, I know she was embarrassed, so much so that I doubt she'd be able to get out of bed for days. Come here, don't be mad".

He pulled Yibo over and ruffled his hair, Yibo just pushed his hand away and walked a little faster. They had been together for more than a year and Xiao Zhan knew exactly how to coax him so he moved closer and whispered something into his ears. He watched as his neck and ears turned red. Yibo had a shy smile on his face.

Yeah, so easy to placate. Xiao Zhan knew he was no longer upset. How lucky was he to be married to the man of his dreams.
