Year 1989, April 3rd

The rain was pouring heavily outside but Mix loved raining seasons more than any others. They're mesmerizing, the quick streaks of rain painting themselves across the expanse of Mix's bedroom window. The room was dimly lit, only the lampshade on the side table offer him light during the night. The thunder had cracked moments later the very second that he'd gotten comfortable on his bed while reading his book and nothing else.

At the age of 72, he's too old enough to go out and visiting places like he used to before, so now, he spent a lot of time reading or simply looking at the window in his bedroom.

Reading a book could make him feel exhausted, his room was silent, only the ticking of the clock would hear and the low rumble of thunder that vibrates through the walls of his room before there's a knock on the the door had him looked up.

"Grandpa?"

His grandson standing in front of his bedroom door, one hand of the doorknob, and the other rubbing his eyes.

"Hey, sweetie," he coos, "Still up?"

Saturn closed the door behind him and makes his way onto the bed to join next to his grandfather. "Mhm," he answers simply, "are you reading so late at night again?"

There's a smile forming on Mix's lips, he flips his diary closed and took his eyeglasses off to put them down gently on the side table.

"Is there something wrong, sweetheart?"

Saturn lets out a long sigh and put his head on Mix's lap, "I can't sleep."

"So, close your eyes then." Mix said, then he chuckled as he saw his grandson rolled his eyes.

"Grandpa, I'm not kidding, and the thunder was so scary, can you tell any stories for me? Please?" He pouts.

"Hmm, I told so many stories to you before that you could memorized them all." Mix said, he looked down as to see his grandson raised his hand on his chin looks like he's thinking.

"I will never get tired to listen to your wonderful stories, can you at least tell me about the story of you and grandad then?"

Mix gave him a confused look, he never told to his grandson about Earth at all, "You know him, sweetie? How?"

Saturn gave him a nervous laugh, "Ah, ahem, I-I—earlier Mom told me?"

"Saturn."

"I lied. I-ah saw your diary in the kitchen counter earlier, and...well, I took a glimpse of it? And I saw the old grainy picture of you and the other man looks like you two uhmm kissing? Sorry grandpa." He explained while he immediately closed his eyes shut as he thought that his grandfather will scold him but he only heard him sigh, saturn slowly opens his eye and he saw his grandpa looking sadly while staring at the diary on the side table.

It's not that Mix was mad because his grandson meddled his things, he's also not mad when Saturn saw his picture, their picture. Not at all. Saturn was now 11 years old and he's not like any other children, he's more mature and had more knowledge and understanding in this cruel world. And Mix was happy, that finally there's someone who he could tell about their story. The story that could make him special, yet could make him also had heartache. Well, this was actually he wanted before he dies after all.

"Are you mad at me? Grandpa I-I said sorry to you, and a-"

"Hey, sweetie. I'm not mad at you."

"Really?" Saturn assures as he gave his grandfather a pout on his lips that he knows that Mix was so weak when he always did that look.

"Yes, I'm not." Mix reassured, then he raised his left hand to cupped the younger's cheeks. "There now, don't sulk."

"Then...can, can I know how you and grandad met?"

Mix gave him a small smile and he looked up the ceiling. "It's a long story, sweetie, but because I love you so much I will tell you, alright?"
