Year 1939, January 11th
Mix never particularly liked going out to the market.
It was crowded, and dirty and generally smelled bad, yet his friend, Lucas more than willing took him with him, claiming that companionship made the experience so much better, though Mix didn't find it good in the first place.
You can't blame him anyway, he was a doctor after all. He was more than willing and had more interest to treat people on his very own clinic than going out to this place. But he knew, he can't say no to his friend since his mother also want him to go out sometimes than locking himself onto his clinic.
While his friend was busy looking to the items that took him so much interest even though Mix found the things...weird. Mix slowly turned away and mindlessly looked over the other stands of the market, maybe hoping that he would also catch his interest after all.
After a moment of walking around, he began make his way towards the crowd of people stood around a girl with a guitar, strumming while singing her melody. He got distracted immediately not because the girl was pretty but because of her voice. It always amazed him how beautiful it was, how light and airy it sounded against the mic, and the lyrics of the song he felt through the girl's voice letting him know that the song was a love song and a romantic one.
"The soldiers are coming!"
Mix jerked his head as heard a voice shouting coming from a man looked like his face was in horror. He frowned and looked around at everyone panicking, the crowd of people around him began running and leaving. He actually find it weird why people would react in that way, since he had no idea why soldiers were in the market.
"Maybe they went here because they wanted to buy things? People really just overreacting these days."
That was until suddenly he realised that his friend was no behind him, he starts to look around to search his friend but there's no trace of him.
Okay, what in the fuck, since he was not used to go to this place he had no idea where and exactly he would began to find Lucas. Did he really just, just lost himself in the market? The market was so big and crowded and there's no someone he could talk to and asked to since the people were also busied themselves getting away from the soldiers.
"Lucas!" He shouted.
The doctor started to felt anxious, he wanted to cry, he's not used to this! This was one of the reasons why he wants to stay on his clinic instead of having in here. He's scared if this situation occurs and now it actually really happened. Sue his friend and his fucking companionship, once he leave from this fucking market, Mix will surely harvest his kneecaps and bury him alive.
"Lucas! Where are you?!" He shouted again, "Lucas!" Still no answer.
Mix's throat was getting dry, still failed to find his friend. He's trying! But he wants to give up because there's no way that his friend would actually hear him since his voice was now in hoarse plus he's tired. Sighing heavily, he turned around as to see the troops of soldiers just a few feet away looking at him. No. Aiming their guns at him.
Mix stopped in his tracks, eyes widen, his heart was thumping heavily in his chest, knees were trembling. He tried to look around asking for help but he saw none.
Before the doctor was getting ready to run away, one of them shouted, "Stop right there! Don't you dare move."
Mix suddenly raised both of his hands, surrendering. He closed his eyes tight and turned around slowly to face the soldiers.
Fuck! This wasn't he wanted. He didn't know why these soldiers aiming their guns at him. He's not a fucking terrorist or something! Does this face looked like it was?!
"Who are you?" The soldier in the middle asked, "Why are you in here at the black market?"
"Here in the black what? Fuck! Does that mean..."
Mix didn't respond. His lips pursed and his eyes were still closed shut.
"Don't fucking tell me Lucas brought me here at the black market? I will really fucking bury you alive, Lucas. I fucking swear I—"
"Cat got your tongue? I said who are you?!" The man in the middle shouted.
The moment when Mix got interrupted with his thoughts, he finally snapped his eyes open and shouted, "I'm a terrorist!"
...
Mix wants the ground to swallow him now, his eyes bawled. He saw all of the soldiers stared at him with wide eyes then glancing at each other.
"Did-did he just said to these soldiers that he, himself was a fucking terrorist?!" He said to himself mentally in disbelief.
The doctor wanted to cry. He didn't supposed to said that.
"Why this fucking mouth always betrayed me?!"
"N-no, I-I mean, I'm, I'm not! I swear, I-"
The soldiers were still looking at him in terror.
"Fuck! Fuck! What am I gonna do?"
One of the soldiers took out the walkie talkie on his pocket and spoke against it, his eyes were still watching Mix.
"Hello? This is Mike Chinnarat, from the private first class. We found a man looking suspicious here at the black market, and he said he was a terrorist. Over?"
Mix's jaw dropped and started panicking as what he just heard, "W-what? Hey, it was just a mistake! I'm not, I'm not a terrorist!"
The soldier took down his radio and ordered the others, "Go get him."
The two of them approached the doctor and held both of his arms, he tried to escape from their grip but failed as he had no so much strength.
"Let go of me! I'm not a terrorist!"
The man in front of them halted and turned around to look at the doctor, "Explain that excuse of yours to the Captain once we get you in the interrogation room."
Oh fuck he's doomed.
"I-Interrogation room? What?! This is absurd! All of you are unfair! Help me!"
No one paid attention to him. The soldiers were just ignoring his whining and keep walking on their way.
"Was this his really end? Was he dying for real in the hands of these fucking idiots? Wait, why was he here again? Ah he had a friend named Lucas, the one who took him here, and preferably will die once he get away from these morons."
"Wait! I-I, my friend! I had a friend!" He said nonchalantly.
The soldiers looked at him, "What? You had a friend who was terrorist too?"
"What? Fuck, no! What the hell? I-"
"I said, save that excuses of yours later."
He's indeed doomed.
Sighing, Mix gave up disheartedly, no longer complained himself from the soldiers. It was his fault after all.
The moment when the soldiers were on cue to open the door of their truck, Mix's head was started spinning, groaning and instinctively moved his hands over his aching spot and fell to the ground.
The next thing happened, he felt himself being lifted up before he passed out.
