"I am sorry Kei but if I talk to you any longer, you might be in danger of getting caught so I will be cutting the call now."
"No wai- "
Before Karuizawa could finish her sentence, the call was cut from the other side. Her hand fell down on her side and she clutched her phone tightly. Closing her eyes, she fell down on the bed and covered her eyes with her hand. A small smile formed on her face since she could hear his voice again. She felt happy, extremely happy that she was holding herself back from jumping in the air in glee and run around announcing that her boyfriend is still alive. But that might only make her look like a fool in love who is missing her boyfriend a lot.
Which she indeed was.
Even if she smiled and felt happy, she also felt a little sad realizing the fact that she could not see him for a year and a half. With that thought in her mind, she curled up in a ball hugging her knees close to her chest and tears started falling down her eyes. They were not the tears of sadness but of relief. Karuizawa was relieved that Ayanokouji was not dead and is waiting for her to get to him. That is what she believed.
"When I meet you, you are so dead. I will squeeze the life out of you in a big hug," she muttered and unknowingly fell asleep then and there.
She had a pleasant sleep that night as his smell was still there on the bed which made her feel calm and at peace. Even the slightest trace of Ayanokouji made Karuizawa safe. She remembered all the bitter-sweet moments they have been through together. Her being ganged up by Ryuuen and his lackey and Ayanokouji saving her. Her finding out that she actually loved Ayanokouji. His confession to Karuizawa and even the sudden surprise first kiss he gave her on the island during their second-year island exam. Every single one of his memories was ingrained in her brain as if she had an entire hard drive installed in her brain just for all the moments she spent with Ayanokouji. Just one look and she even memorized the number he called her on.
And so, the next morning came.
Karuizawa woke up in Ayanokouji's room and not remembering when she fell asleep there, her face heated up a little. She sat up straight and stretched her arms yawning and looked around the empty room. The door of the room was locked last night when Karuizawa entered here and as the people came to check and saw Ayanokouji's room is locked, they just did not care checking in. No one knew where Karuizawa was except for Karuizawa herself.
She went to the bathroom and turned on the tap but no water was coming out of it. It only made sense since there was no longer any occupant of this room that they would turn on the water and electric supply of the room.
Karuizawa exhaled on the palm of her hand and then pinched her nose. Her stomach grumbled loudly and she decided to get out of the room. Luckily, there was no one outside at the moment so no one knew that Karuizawa spent the entire night in Ayanokouji's room. She went up to her floor and entered her room and got ready for the day. She had a sad smile on her face the entire time but she did not know that.
As students started heading to the school big groups were formed around many people. The only thing that linked every single main person around whom the group was created was that they were somehow related to Ayanokouji as more than acquaintances in one way or another. These were the people who were hit the most by the news of his death and still many of them are not ready to accept the fact that the brown-haired, golden-eyed emotionless boy is supposedly no more.
Ryuuen Kakeru looked grumpier and angrier than normal. He had this aura around him that openly said, "Talk to me and you will lose your fucking voice box."
His fists had bandages wrapped around them because of the destruction he did yesterday which everyone including him knew will not go unpunished. He was not wearing his uniform but was just out there for a walk. He was in his casual clothes and in a bad mood. He had been suspended for a month for all the destruction he had done and his class was compensated for this by taking a hundred class points which though did not bring their rank down but was still a very big amount that was snatched away the class but even he did not care about it. Class points can be gained back, the dead can't. Once someone is dead, that is the end of their story.
