After the ceremony, Me and Ken hung out a little but then I wanted to go to the cemetery to see my grandmother gravestone. Before we went there, I went to the flower shop and picked the cutest flowers I could find. While I was paying for the flowers, the women that worked there saw my graduation cap and said congratulations to me, I said thank you and paid for the flowers and I left.
*25 mins later*
Before we got out, I took a deep breath and looked at Ken.
Ken: "You ready?"
Me:"Yeah, I just want to get this over with."
Ken: "Come on."
I grabbed the flowers and got out. Before we started walking, Ken held my hand. Then we started walking. When I walked up to her gravestone, I instantly started to do a soft cry. I wiped my tears and put the flowers on her gravestone.
Me: I did it grandma, I hope you proud of me. I never seen this day coming because of the stuff I been through in the past. You was the one who kept me what I had to do to what I am today. I wish you were here with me right now, because I been stressing lately. I remember when I used to lay on your lap and you used to stroke my hair and tell me "everything is gonna be okay", I need that right now. I wish heaven had visiting hours, cause I'll come up there everyday just to see you. But you in a better place now, and I love and miss you. Please look over me and make sure I'll be alright. Rest in peace grandma, I love you.
After that, I took my graduation cap off and placed it by the flowers. Ken came up to me and hugged me tightly and kissed my temple.
Me: *Starts Crying* "I miss her so much Ken."
Ken: "I know baby."
Me: "It feel like that's the only person who had my back."
Right then Ken started crying.
Ken: "Look men if ain't nobody got you, I got you. Don't never think nobody got you, cause I do."
He lifted my chin to make me look at him.
Ken: "You here me De'Arra?"
Me: "Mhm."
He wiped my tears and kissed me. Then he depended on it. But then I pulled back cause I heard a men clear his throat.
Me: "Oh sorry."
Men: "De'Arra."
When that men said my name, I knew that voice from anywhere. It was my father. I ran to him and hugged him tightly and started to cry. (Btw his name is Rich)
Rich: "Hi Babygirl."
I looked up at him and he wiped my tears.
Rich: " Will are you happy to see me?" He said while laughing.
Me: "Of course, but how did you know I was here?"
Rich: "I was at your graduation and I was gonna come up to you, but I didn't know how you would react. Cause you know, I haven't been in your life since I was in jail. So when I saw that you was leaving I just followed you, and I see your here looking at your grandma gravestone."
Me: "Yeah I had too, she was the only person to lead me to this day."
After that, we was just looking at each other. But then Ken cleared his throat.
Me: "Oh yeah daddy, this is my boyfriend Ken."
Rich: "Nice to meet you Ken, I'm Rich."
Ken: "Nice to meet you too sir."
