It was September 2018 and it marked the beginning of a new semester in my college.
Nope, I'm not a college student. As a matter of fact, I am a lecturer. A 25-year-old lecturer, teaching business management in one of the most popular private college in the city. I am not profoundly smart especially in making decisions that are related to romance.
So, new semester, every one was excited especially the fresh graduates from high school who were eager to see what college could bring to them. As usual, the hallway to the lecture halls were crowded and many sophomores were greeting me as I was looking for my class.
"Hello sir, will you be teaching us this semester?"
"Sir! Sir! Teach our class again this semester!"
Yes, those were the words that I could hear and from those words, you can pretty much guess what kind of lecturer I am. An easy-going, trying to have fun with the class kind of lecturer. Not saying I'm the best but for a 2 years experience here, I kind of stand out a little bit.
When I finally discovered my class, it was the biggest lecture hall in the whole campus, I entered and saw around 30 people, just chilling out and talked to one another as what students usually do before the class starts. Some of them were quite surprised when they saw me sitting on the lecturer's chair since they were all freshmen and probably I was not the kind of a lecturer's image that they were expecting.
So, I did the roll call as usual and since it was the first class for them, I asked them to introduce themselves one by one. As class goes, there will always be the clown of the class, the nerds, the jocks, the clueless, and many of those categories but there was one particular student that caught my attention.
She was there, sitting in the front row with two of her friends. Being the only blonde student in the class, it might be obvious that she was quite "eye-catching" but there was something more to her than just her hair.
I tried to ask her more questions during her introduction and she revealed that her sister used to be a student in the campus as well. No wonder, I know her sister as she used to be my club junior back during my study time but is that what makes her so familiar? I dismissed my thought and the class went on and finally it ended on time.
Night came and it was time for me to have a shut eye. That was the moment when things went totally to the direction that I could never imagine in my life. Just as I entered the slumber and dwelled deep inside my dream, I saw her.
"What the hell is she doing here?" I asked myself.
Yes, she was there, standing in front of me in the middle of white void and she smiled at me.
"Wow, that's creepy... So, what her name again? She's that front row blondie, right?" I said to myself as I tried my best to remember her name. This may sound ridiculous but I really had forgotten her name.
"Victoria? No, must be something Evelyn or Viona... Damn... Kids with their names nowadays"
As I was busy figuring out her name, a silhouette of a person appear beside her. I couldn't really see who it was exactly but I was sure that it was a man. She looked at him, hold his hand and as she left with him, she turned her attention towards me, smiling at me and then she was gone.
I didn't know what was going on but one thing for sure happened. A drop of tear flowed down my eyes and there was this strong feeling inside me. My heart felt hot and it tightened so hard as if it's going to implode. Without me realizing, my fists were both clenching up as well.
"Why am I feeling this? Just... who is she?"
That was the turning point in my life as from then on, I started doing crazy things that I've never even think of doing before.
