Xiao was annoyed. To think that the young girl he had saved would had bothered him to the extend that she had been visiting him everyday. He never once thought of having any contact with a mortal, yet this one particularly caught his interest.

(Y/n) was her name. It was what the girl had told him. She was very stubborn and very determined, to see him. All because she wanted to learn his fighting style.

She was very noisy, everytime she visits, she began telling him all about how her day went by, as he sat on the balcony of the Wangshun Inn while eating the Almond Tofu, she had brought for him. This became a daily routine, him appearing only to see her sitting next to the spot he always teleport at.

"Adeptus Xiao!" As soon as he appeared, there stood an excited (Y/n) waiting for him with a plate of newly cooked Almond Tofu. Her pyro slime, was resting inside her open satchel without a care in the world.

This also confused Xiao, not that he would admit it in the first place. Ever since he first saw her, she was holding a slime. A slime that suppose to be a monster that attacks people yet here is one who was clearly never tried to harm her since the beginning she met it.

He was watching. From the moment she entered Liyue, he was watching her. He sensed an unknown mortal and decided to make sure that she's wasn't a threat to Liyue. It was his duty to protect this nation. He watched her walked around the harbor in total confusion, it was as if she never planned on arriving in Liyue. He watched her lost her way to Wangshun Inn, get chased by Hilichurls and meets a unusual pyro slime that never did tried to attack her.

Xiao was perplexed. He witnessed her formed a bond with a mere slime. Seeing the girl completely helpless in a teritory that she was foreign with made him think that she wasn't a thread after all. Thus him taking action when the Ruin Hunter attacked. He wouldn't allow a helpless mortal get in danger.

But he never expected her to look up to him in such admiration.

Xiao took the plate of steaming Almond Tofu without any word. He took a bite and savored the taste, but somehow it wasn't the same like he always ate. "This one is different from what I usually ate."

"Oh! I made it. I'm sorry, it's my first time cooking." (Y/n) said, her cheeks tinted a lighter shade of pink, seemingly embarrased that he found out. "I wanted to learn so I asked Mr. Smiley Yanxiao to teach me. Took me awhile to convince him."

Xiao merely nodded, his eyes landed on her twiddling her fingers. Her hands were slightly burned and unattended. Where ever she came from, she clearly never used to work. Seeing how she never cooked was one of it. Having to know her for a week now gave him more information. The girl barely have any worldly experience and was clearly pampered her whole life.

She won't survive that long, Xiao knew how dangerous places could get outside the harbor.

"Fine..." (E/c) eyes met with his golden irises. The girl infront of him was confused, which made Xiao explain further. "You asked to be trained by me. So I accept, that's my respond."

"Really?!" (Y/n) beamed. Her eyes sparking in happiness that Xiao almost called her adorable if he hasn't composed himself. "I'll do my best, I promise!"

"I hope you are true with your words. My training will give you no mercy, even if you are mortal." Xiao warned, giving her a chance to take her words back. "Our worlds should had never crossed pass against each other, truthfully, a mortal shouldn't be allowed to do the training meant for the adepti."
