I came home late again. I knew maki didn't like me staying out this late but I couldn't help it. My best friend since I was six has gone missing!
"welcome home" maki folded her arms with an annoyed look on her face.
"sorry I stayed out so late" I mumbled as I slumped back on the chair. Maki stood behind me and rubbed my shoulders comfertingly "I just feel like this is partly my fault. If I had just not broke the washing machine-"
"kaito this isn't your fault" she bent down and looked me in the eye "shuichi going missing is terrible but we will find him. I promise"
"ok" I sighed.
She smiled gently at me "darling you look exhausted. Let's get you to bed"
"ok babe" I kissed her on the cheek and we walked to bed hand in hand.
