A N A S T A S I A
Loud music was spreading through The Whirlwind, a popular bar here in Cambridge. It's just like Delightful Days, except it doesn't sell coffee, nor does it play loud music. Also The Whirlwind is a nighttime place and Delightful Days is a morning to evening place. Many differences between the two.
My friend Gabriella, was drinking her third apple martini while I was still on my first. She was rambling to me about a boy she met at the grocery store and how hot he is and that they exchange numbers. I wasn't really paying attention to her, because I kept feeling someone's eyes on me. Hell I wouldn't blame them because the outfit I was wearing was really tight.
I am wearing a red cocktail dress that gives everyone a full view of my back. To match the dress, I am wearing black pumps. My make-up also matched the outfit. I have on some dark red lipstick with black eyeliner, and glittery gray eye shadow. I was glad that I wore this because it's burning hot in here with the sweaty grinding bodies on the dance floor.
"So, Marcus and I are going out to a fancy Italian restaurant tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to sleep off a 99.9% chance hangover. Dammit, am I rambling? Sorry I'm a little tipsy. I mean this iss my third apple martini." She giggles into her drink and holds her hand up to wave the bartender over. I grab it and put it down.
"I think you've had enough Gabby."
"Awww, c'mon Ana. Let me have one more pleaseeee." She pouts out her dark purple lips at me. Her eyes purposely sparkle and she starts whimpering like a puppy. I roll my eyes at her actions. Great she's pulling her puppy dog act that always worked on everyone. No one can resist that face. Well except for me.
"No Gabby. Now go out and dance so you can get rid of all those martinis." Gabriella sticks out her tongue as she ungracefully hops off the bar stool. She stumbles to the dance floor and starts to move her hips to the beat sensually. I roll my eyes again, and finish my martini. The fruity alcohol trails down my throat. I hum to myself in appreciation. The sweet taste gets rid of the bitter taste of the vodka shots Gabriella and I took before we came here.
"What's a pretty woman like you sitting here by yourself." A deep voice says beside me. I look over and see a buff dude beside me. He smells strong of whiskey and vodka with a hint of sweat. My nose immediately wrinkles at the horrible mixture. This dude needs a shower and a whole bottle of cologne.
I give him a small smile, and wave the bartender over. I ask for a Fruit Twister that has vodka mixed with strawberry, lemon, apple, cherry, and grape juice, with a drop of whiskey. I think I'm going to drink fruity drinks all night.
I look over to see Gabby and I see that some bloke has his arms around her waist. She has a wide grin on her face as he whispers something in her ears. I should go over there and tell him to fuck off, but Gabby isn't that drunk to let him take her home.
The bartender slides my Fruit Twister to me. I give him ten pounds and take a sip. The sweet taste fills my mouth. I hum in appreciation and drink some more.
Gabriella stumbles back over to me with the bloke from earlier. My protective friend instincts kick in. I narrow my eyes in his way. He doesn't pay the look I'm giving him any mind because he gives me a friendly smile.
"Ana, meet Marcus, the guy I was talking about earlier. Marcus meet Anastasia, my best friend." Gabriella slurs as she introduces us. Marcus holds onto her waist and holds his free hand out to me. I put mines in it and we shake hands.
"Nice to meet you Anastasia. Gabriella has told me much about you." He gives me a full on grin. I stare at his pearly whites in amazement. There's no hint of yellow in them. They're are just so..white.
