Chapter 3 ☆
When we left the quiet and dim performance center, the sky was covered by a black blanket and stars coated it beautifully. We walked side by side in a comfortable silence. Ever so slightly, his pinky brushed against mine and my heart sped up several beats. I controlled the odd reaction my body seemed to have to his presence and ignored the odd craving I had for his touch. I glanced at him out of the corner of my eye and saw a smile tugging away at his lips.
"I know we didn't drive here together but do you want to come over? You can just follow me or whatever," I say, breaking the silence. I turn and see him shake his head yes and skip to my car, suddenly very giddy. I start the car and turn on a song by The Red Hot Chili Peppers. When I start my car I glance behind me and see Roman straddling his motorcycle, waiting for me to drive ahead of him. The whole car ride there, I glance behind me to make sure he's following. When we arrive at my house I park in the garage and he keeps his bike on the street. I walk over to him and smile as he swings his helmet of his head and onto the handlebars.
"You know the motorcycle really feeds into your whole mysterious aura," I say walking up the pathway and ignoring the pain in my chest when I see both my parents cars. I know they're not here so seeing the two expensive vehicles sent a pang to my chest. He tapped my shoulder and help
up his phone for me to read.that's the point
He winks at me and follows me inside. I see his mouth form an 'o' shape as he sees the white marble staircase surrounded by expensive sculptures and all laying beneath a crystal chandelier that was bigger than a twin size bed. I ushered him in and led him into the kitchen where I set up sandwich making items.
"Want one? I make killer sandwiches," I say as I grab the turkey and mayonnaise from the fridge. I turn around to see his reply and see him smile and shake his head yes. I feel myself smile despite myself. He looked like a little boy right then and I couldn't help but feel so happy that he was here. After I made the sandwiches, we went into the upstairs dining room and ate in silence. I have always felt uncomfortable in complete silence with another person but with Roman it was different. I welcomed the silence and enjoyed his presence. It didn't take long for us to finish and clean up, so by the time we were done less than 30 minutes had passed.
"What do you want to do?" I asked, hoping it wasn't getting awkward and hoping he would have an answer. Sadly he just shrugged,
so I grabbed his hand and led him to my room. My room was pretty big for a teenager but I loved it nonetheless. The ceiling was painted black with stars painted on the ceiling to form my favorite constellations. I had all white furniture with black accents. My bed was a king size and had drapes that dropped down from the posts slightly. on my wall where my bed was I had band posters covering every inch. They ranged from Bob Marley to ALT-J to Bring Me The Horizon. I enjoyed all music and this wall showed my dedication to my favorite artists. On the wall opposite my bed was the "famous wall", covered with the best name brand and expensive guitars. Drums were placed in the corner signed by Ringo Starr. The Beatles knew my parents when they were younger and have kinda kept in touch. Almost immediately, Roman made his way over to the drum set coated with the famous autograph. I watched as his eyes glistening and he traced over the signature."You like?" I ask playfully, kicking off my converse and sitting on my bed. I see him type out a message on his phone and he holds it up for me to read.
The Beatles are my favorite. This is his actual drum set.. I can tell. Can I play something?
I laugh and nod yes but not before throwing in "I don't know can you?" I laugh at myself and hear a breathy chuckle escape his lips. I smiled at the sound that came out of his mouth. His quietness intrigued for more than anybody ever has. He hesitantly sat down and began to play a drum solo set. I sat and listening and smiled at his precious technique. His dark hair fell forward and cloaked his smiling eyes. After several songs and sets he pushed his hair back and it stuck up in odd directions from the sweat that began to appear, I couldn't help but laugh. I clutched my stomach and tried to control the laughter that spilled out of me.
"You look like a peacock," I wheezed and fell back on my bed, coming down from my laughing high.
He shook his hand in front of me and I took his phone he was holding out towards me.
I like your laugh
I saw him blush as I smiled widely and climbed off the bed.
"I like your laugh too, Roman," I say and he quickly types out something on his phone. I take it from him once more and shiver as his hands brushed against mine.
I take it back. I like you talking better.
I giggle at his cheesy smile and lead him into the media room.
"We are gonna watch some movies. K? K." I say as I press the netflix button and get comfortable on my reclining sofa. He awkwardly takes a seat on the other end and I roll my eyes at him. For some reason I wanted him close to me and decided to play Insidious so I could get scared and have an excuse to hold his hand or hold him.
I see him smirk and raise a dark eyebrow at me and shrug before going over to the vending machine. Clicking in the code, I hear him shuffle up behind me and I don't move when I feel his breath on my neck. Not wanting to act as nervous as I felt, I proceeded to get a Dr.Pepper out of my vending machine I had installed when I was little. Tentatively, he places his hands on the vending machine so his arms encircle me and I'm eye level with his palms. I spin to question what he's doing and right as I go to talk he speaks again.
"Feylinn..." that's all he says before he retreats out the door and starts up his motorcycle to drive off. I hear him speed down the street and slowly slide down the vending machine.
I couldn't help but wonder if my name tasted like honey or cinnamon on his tongue.
