It was a Sunday afternoon, and Bianca di Angelo sat on a fallen tree log by the shimmering lake of Camp Half-Blood. If she was right, she has been waiting for more than forty minutes. Where is he? She thought. Surely he had got her note. He's the only one in Cabin Three. No one else would have picked it up... right?

Bianca let out a long sigh she didn't realize she was holding in, and began collecting her picnic supplies when she heard an oh-so familiar voice from behind her, "I didn't miss the sandwiches, did I?"

Bianca's heart jumped in her chest, smile lines appeared near her eyes as she placed the picnic basket back on the grass.

"Not quite." She said, turning around to face Percy. His face was turned up in a handsome smile. His orange Camp Half-Blood t-shirt stuck to his abdomen, showing that he had muscles under there. His scruffy black hair stuck up in the wind, but somehow managed to look intentional. Bianca let out another sigh, for she knew she shouldn't feel this way towards someone who was already with someone else. But she just couldn't help it.

"How's Annabeth?" She hated asking that question. But Annabeth was her friend, and she hadn't had the guts to go and speak to her personally ever since she developed feelings for Percy.

Percy stalled before answering, "She's uh- fine."

Bianca nodded. Realizing that Percy wasn't here to talk about Annabeth. She perched herself back on her log and patted the space next to her. Percy starred long and hard at her before taking a seat. Bianca clumsily unpacked the picnic basket as Percy continued to stare at her. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw him close his eyes slowly and turn his mouth upwards in the slightest of smiles. This calmed Bianca down a bit, as she gingerly placed a plate of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on the patchwork rug at her feet.

She looked up at Percy, who was eyeing the food and said, "before we eat, can I ask you something? And can you answer honestly?"

Percy dragged his eye away from the sandwiches to look directly into Bianca's sapphire blue eyes. He raised his eyebrows, urging Bianca to continue.

"If I only had a few more day left... would you still stay with Annabeth?"

Percy gasped, shocked and caught off-guard. Bianca, thinking she had totally blown her chances, scolded herself and found a sudden interest in her shoes.

"I- um..." percy stuttered. He was clearly struggling to answer the question. Bianca's interest in her shoes continued.

"Bianca, look at me." Bianca tore her attention away from her shoes to look up into Percy's intense emerald green eyes. For a moment, neither half-blood said anything, lost in each other's eyes. But Percy broke the silence and reached out for Bianca's hands. He held them gently in his as he answered her question.

"I hope you know how much a care for you..." Care? How much I care for you? Bianca didn't think she had much of a chance anymore. Percy would return to Annabeth after their conversation, and he'd be lost to her, forever.

"... but you have to realize that I'm with Annabeth." Percy continued. "As much as I like you, I can't just turn my back on Annabeth. You know that, don't you?"

Tears were forming in Bianca's eyes, making her eyes go tomato red.

"Ah, shit, please don't get upset..."

"Don't get upset? How am I suppose to act, Percy? Tell me that. I've poured my heart out to you a number of times ever since I came back to Camp. And now you're just going to through it all back in my face!"

Bianca's sadness was transforming into anger. Her voice was raising with ever word. She was using her hands to animate her emotions, but Percy looked as calm as ever.

"Please, Bianca! You have to calm down, someone will hear you." Percy's eyes looked sad, but his voice was still and firm. Making him appear way too calm given the situation.

"I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable around camp. I understand that you want to be with me... and I admit, I want to be with you, too but-"

"Wait, you- you, want to be with me?" Bianca couldn't believe what she was hearing coming out of Percy's mouth. Did he really just say he wanted to be with her? Over Annabeth?

The corner of Percy's mouth twitched up in a small smile.

"I meant what I said, di Angelo. I wouldn't lie to you." Percy shrugged his shoulders and continued speaking, "Ever since you came back to camp... I don't know, just- everything changed."

Bianca blinked. Struggling to comprehend what she was hearing. What was Percy saying, exactly?

"What I'm trying to say is... ugh, I don't know how to say this..."

Bianca raised an eyebrow. "It's alright."

"No, no, I have to get this out." Percy released a long, deep sigh and said, "I'd choose you."

Bianca gasped. She raised a hand to her mouth and felt a slow stream of tears rolling down her cheeks. She was overwhelmed. She had so long hoped that this day would come to pass, but now that it was actually happening, she didn't believe it was real.

Ever since she had arrived back at Camp Half-Blood, her attraction towards Percy was the only thing on her mind. Everything reminded her of him in one way or another. And, as it turned out, Percy went through the same thing.

"But I can't leave Annabeth. Not like this."

Bam. That hit Bianca right in the chest. He couldn't leave Annabeth? But didn't he just say he wanted to be with Bianca?

"Damn it, Percy! You should do what you heart wants! Not what's noble. I said I'd wait for you, but I don't know how much longer I can hold out."

Bianca stood up, with tears still gushing down her cheeks. The mood of the conversation shifted as the sound of campers approached the picnic spot.

"Bianca, please, I don't want to you get in trouble. You have to go now." Percy began throwing the sandwiches back in the picnic basket, along with the patchwork rug and the bottle of soda water that was never opened. Bianca snatched up the basket in her arms and stormed up the hill towards the amphitheater. She got about half way when she heard running footsteps approaching from behind her. She swung herself around and found herself starring right into Percy's eyes.

"What now? Forget to say something? Or maybe you just want to crush me even more."

Percy's expression surprised Bianca. It wasn't calm, brave, angry or sad, but disappointed. Bianca took a step back. Percy wasn't saying anything. Just looking at her, making her feel uneasy. Until, that is, he lent forward and kissed her. Bianca was shocked, at first, but then decided to return Percy's kiss. She dropped the picnic basket, it's content spilling around both their feet, and wrapped her arms around Percy's strong neck.

Percy grabbed Bianca's waist and pulled her off him. His eyes met hers, his mouth turned upwards in a huge smile. It was obviously contagious, for Bianca was smiling, too.

Before she realized what she was saying, Bianca spat out, "I love you."

Shit. She thought. I've done it this time. Really done it. But Percy just laughed.

"Me too, di Angelo. Me too."
