Winter wonderland

2 months later..

Sunshine and Moonlight slowly stirred, and woke up. stretching and yawning, the two said their greetings to each other.

"Good morning Moonlight!" Sunshine exclaimed.

"Good morning big sis!" Moonlight replied.

Both got out of their bed, and opened their curtain. The window was fogged up.

"I can't see anything outside." Moonlight said.

"Here, let me show you something!" Sunshine replied.

Sunshine put her paw on the window, and drew a smiley face on it.

"Cooool..." Moonlight gawked.

"Teehee, there's more!" Sunshine said, wiping the face.

"Wow.... What's all that white stuff?" Moonlight asked.

"Snow!" Sunshine replied.

"Here, let's go! Follow me!" Sunshine exclaimed, hopping off her bed. Moonlight followed her.

Racing to the door, they opened it, eager to play outside.

"Eep!" Sunshine shrieked, buffeted by the cold air.

"So cold!" Moonlight yelped, shivering.

Both kids quickly shut the door. Moonlight huddled with his bigger sister for warmth.

"Brrr.... So cold..." Moonlight said, his teeth chattering.

"Oops... Sorry about that. Forgot winter was cold..." Sunshine replied, shivering and holding onto her younger brother for warmth.

"I wanna go outside.... but it's too cold..." Moonlight said.

"We'll need to wake up mommy and daddy so we can get our winter gear." Sunshine said.

"Let's go then!" Moonlight said, running off.

the two kids raced each other to their parents' room.

"Mommy! Daddy!" Sunshine exclaimed, bursting into Alan and Stella's room.

Alan and Stella lay on their bed cuddling each other, fast asleep.

"Mommy? Daddy?" Moonlight said.

"Daddy! Wake up!" Sunshine exclaimed, shaking Alan

"Nnngh.... Five more minutes..." Alan mumbled, still asleep.

"Mommy? Wakey wakey..." Moonlight said, gently tapping his mother.

"Mmmm..." Stella mumbled, before snuggling more into Alan's fur.

"Mommy and daddy aren't waking up..." Moonlight said.

"Then we'll just have to wake them up!" Sunshine said.

"Wake up daddy!" Sunshine yelled.

Stella woke up.

"H-huh? Sunshine, do you really have to yell?" Stella said, annoyed at being woken up from a warm slumber.

"Mommy!" Moonlight said, hugging Stella.

"mmm... morning sweet pea..." Stella replied, wiping her eyes and yawning.

"Daddy's still not awake." Moonlight said.

"Time for the last resort!" Sunshine exclaimed, preparing to jump.

"Sunshine! Don't you dare do that!" Stella yelled, attempting to stop Sunshine with her feeler.

Unfortunately, Stella was too late. Sunshine landed on her father's belly, instantly waking him up.
