The headmaster had ushered everyone off to there lessons while I was lead to his office along with Matthias and Elizabeth. He told me to wait outside while they entered and the door closed behind them.
I leant into the door trying to hear what they were saying. "Why didn't you tell us?.....can it really be?....I don't beleive it." They were in there for several minutes before I was told to enter.
It was a large office all furnished in pale wood with a light cream carpet and pale green walls. There was a white leather couch and a matching chair behind the desk as well as shelves of books covering one wall. I leant back against an empty section of wall next to the door while they were sat on the couch with the headmaster sat behind his desk.
"So" I said when they all just stared at me. I brushed a loose bit of white hair that escaped my ponytail behind my ear. "What's all this about?" the question was casual but I was a bit apprehensive.
"Is your name truely Ileana Beckett?" Matthias asked me as a genuine question as he stared at me as if trying to see through me.
"Um...yeah. That's what it says on my birth certificate. I mean I was adopted but when I found out a few years ago I decided, seeing as this is a new start and all, to take my original name back: Beckett." I explained shrugging. Why was it such a big deal what my name was? What was it to these people? Unless..."Who are you?" I asked.
"My name is Matthias Beckett, and this is my wife Elizabeth Beckett." He made sure to accentuate the surnames. My eyes went wide. He smiled slightly at me. "If we are correct then you are the daughter we lost 12 years ago. All the records match. When we found out you'd regained your powers we had to make sure."
I blinked a few times. "Are you serious?" I asked shocked. "No way. I'm not going along with this. I mean is this a joke? It has to be, right?" I was rambling as I always did when nervous. My voice trailed off as they just looked at me imploring me to beleive them, waiting for the information to sink in. Unable to say anything more I fled the room practically running back to my room uncaring that I was technically skiving my first class at a new school which wouldn't look good at all. But I didn't care, I'd just potentially found my parents, my real parents.
I threw myself face down on my bed and screamed into my pillow not knowing what else to do. A few minutes later there was a knock at the door. "Come in." I called hoping it would be Amellia, or James, or even my roommate Lily. It wasn't it was Elizabeth.
She sat down gracfully on the edge of the bed smoothing down her skirt. Neither of us said anything. She simply pushed a small glass bottle of red liquid int my hand and whispered, "Drink it. Trust me, it's mine." and then left closing the door behind her.
I looked down at the bottle in my hand considering whether to drink it or not. Hey what is the worst that could happen, I thought. It's not like they could poison me, I was a vampire now. I sighed and took the glass stopper from the top of the bottle downing the liquid in one sip.
The coppery taste exploded in my mouth and my throat began to burn causing me to choke. I clutched my head as it began to hurt, images flashing through my head. A woman holding a new born baby, the woman was Elizabeth I realised. The images ran by in a matter of minutes but covered several years. 4 to be exact. The 4 years I couldn't remember. These were the memories I'd lost. This woman, my mother, had given them back to me.
I gasped and stood suddenly running from the room back towards the headmasters office. I didn't bother knocking, just pushed hte door open to see the office empty apart from the haedmaster behind his desk.
"Where are they?" I asked hurriedly gasping for breath having run through the corridors and school grounds from the dormatories to the main school.
The headmaster looked at me blankly. I turned and left again looking around the foyer outside trying to find any sight of them. I had to talk to them. I ran a hand through my hair as I spun in circles looking for them. I even called out "Elizabeth, Matthius." but still they didn't appear.
"Damn it." I muttered when people began leaving classroom signalling the end of lessons. Had it only been an hour? Wow. Time had gone really slowly. I walked through the corridors aimlessly not knowing what class was mine but hoping I'd see someone I knew. Amelia came out of a classroom as I passed and cuaght hold of my shoulder turning me around and leading me back into the room she'd just come from.
"Our class is in here." she told me and guided me to a seat. Well, let the lessons begin.
