Chapter 12: she gone

Lani's POV

we're finally back home. i had such a good time with my baby and our friends, this is something that i'd do over and over again.

now, the sad thing is that i have to go back to working again. i know i'm gonna be coming home late again, missing y/n/n and DeyDey, tired, all that, but i gotta do what i gotta do to get this money.

"bye, y'all. we'll see you soon!"

"bye, we love you!"

"we love you too!" we waved and they drove off.

"we back."

"yeah. imma miss all those nights, but i'm glad to be back."

"me too. come on, it's dark and i wanna go see my child."

we rolled our suitcases and went inside.

"hey y'all." it was Destin, Bri, and some random girl.

"hey y/n/n, hey Lani, how was y'all's trip?"

"ugh, the best, we're going back."

"can we come?"

"sure. where's DeyDey?"

"she sleepin."

"imma go up there and put our stuff away, then imma go see her." she took our suitcases and went upstairs.

"who is this?"

"oh this is our new friend Dez."

"hi, nice to meet you."

"hi, i'm a big fan."

"thank you, that's nice to hear."

"i thought y'all weren't coming back til tomorrow."

"we were gonna come back tomorrow, but then some shit happened so we just decided to come back early."

"oh. well, it's nice to have you back, we missed you."

"i missed y'all too."

"what are you about to do?"

"i'm about to knock out. i got so much shit to do tomorrow."

"why you gotta go back tomorrow? why don't you just wait a little bit?"

"i told everyone i would be there as soon as i got back, and i'm not gonna make myself look like a liar."

"i guess. good night, we're happy that you're back, and tell y/n/n i love her."

"okay, good night, y'all. Dez."

"yes?"

"you're welcome to spend the night if you want."

"oh, thank you! good night."

"good night, i love y'all."

"we love you too." i went upstairs and saw y/n/n walking out of Adeya's room.

"is she okay?"

"yeah, she's really tired though. must've had a long day."

"yeah. i'm tired too, let's go to bed."

"okay." she kissed my cheek and held my hand as we walked into the room.

"i'm gonna miss you."

"i'm gonna miss you too. i was you didn't have to go this fast."

"what do you mean?"

"like, you just got back from traveling and shit, why not give yourself a few days to rest?"
